One of the main representatives of Google, Jeff Huber, muddied the waters of the social network Google+. He expressed that he is looking forward to providing iOS users with a great Google Maps experience. Although Google provides applications for the iOS platform such as Google Earth and Google Latitude, which this statement could theoretically refer to, it is more likely that Huber is referring to a potential new application that provides maps from Google to iOS 6 users as well.
Apple will change suppliers for the first time since the introduction of the firmware (later renamed to iOS) in 2007. The map background in the new version of iOS, which was presented at this year's WWDC and will reach regular users in the fall, will no longer bear any trace of Google. Some developers were horrified after trying the iOS 6 beta, and articles about "lousy maps" can be found all over the internet. However, skepticism towards this news is still premature, Apple still has three months to complete the final version.
Google invests a significant part of its resources in its maps and certainly considers them an essential part of its business. It is logical that disappearing from such a popular operating system as iOS is not desirable for the company. Google, on the other hand, is trying to expand as much as possible in this sector, which it is trying to achieve, for example, by providing its API to third-party applications such as Foursquare and Zillow.
In addition to this interesting news causing new speculation, Jeff Huber also mentioned that the team around Street View has created an exhibit celebrating their achievements in the field of revolutionary 3D mapping at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California.
...finally the first positive news since the release of iOS 6... Although I don't need the advertising agency, I have to admit that the maps are excellent, especially after I tried the maps in iOS 6...

Foursquare does not use the Google API due to high fees. I recommend checking the data first before writing articles.
So why is there a big Google logo on all the maps in the 4SQ app? What maps do you think 4SQ uses?
In iOS 6 it already uses "new" maps, instead of "G" there is "Legal" and it points to the same info as from the built-in Maps
AGREE... after trying iOS 6 maps, I hope that the app will be similar if not better, although probably less integrated... what it is is terrible and considering the resources it won't be much better, not compared to Gmaps... but considering the amounts paid for using maps in iOS dev I get it..
The ios versions of Google maps will mean additional profits for Apple, since Google will have to pay fees for them (by displaying them on the App store).
If Google gives paid ones, then it's out of luck ;) most people would rather be satisfied with the free ones from Apple, if they were in worse condition than GMaps at the final release.
A logical step by Google, which they already indicated when introducing their 3D
They have a legitimate reason to fear that Apple users will ignore them after some time, just as some people are satisfied with Pages instead of Word. There is no need to worry about the current state of the maps one way or the other.
