For a long time, the Heroes of Might and Magic series paid for some of the best tactical strategies. However, over time, loyal fans began to lose interest, who did not agree with where the series was going and preferred to return to the older parts, on which they spent hundreds of hours and tens of thousands of moves. When it starts to seem that such games really are a thing of the past, a low-key debut from the studio Lovepotion peeks out at you. They promise to return the magic associated with the cult series to the gaming industry.

The tactical novelty Songs of Conquest makes no secret of its main source of inspiration. The four developers working on the game are big fans of Heroes of Might and Magic, and it shows in the game. Songs of Conquest is made in modern pixel art that evokes the hits of the nineties in the best way. In the game itself, you will be greeted by classic battlefields divided into hexagonal fields. On them, you will control the units of your army in individual turns.

You can choose one of four unique factions to explore in one of two story campaigns, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. You then place specific units under the control of heroes who wield powerful magic. At the same time, the correct use of spells often decides how individual battles will develop. Songs of Conquest is still in early access, so you can look forward to the gradual addition of new campaigns and balancing of game mechanics.
