During the winter autumn, one of the multiplayer hits was the horror Phasmophobia. The cooperative game about obtaining evidence related to paranormal activity has become a phenomenon, certainly in part due to the current situation with the pandemic of a new type of coronavirus and the social restrictions it has brought. However, Phasmophobia remained only on "windows" computers, avoiding Macs by a long shot. So it was clear that ambitious developers would try to fill the unfortunate gap. Such a case is also the creative duo Joe Fender and Luke Fanning, who, together with the publishing house Straught Back Games, have prepared the horror snack Devour for all Mac players. In this one, you will defend yourself against the devil-possessed leader of a demonic cult.

Devour is a cooperative game where you and up to three other players will solve a demonic problem. The leader of a mysterious cult tried to summon a horned demon into the human world. Instead of subduing him under her control, the evil Azazel begins to control poor Anna. In cooperation with other players, you must then, as members of the cult, exorcise your former leader. To do this, you will need to collect ten goats around the game map and sacrifice them in the fire of the sacred altar. The whole endeavor will be complicated both by Anna herself and by the smaller demons she constantly summons. Your only defense will be UV flashlights, which will burn smaller enemies, but will only drive the cult leader away for a while.

Although the developers have only programmed one map into Devour so far, no two playthroughs should be the same. The positions of closed doors and enemies that appear change randomly every time. However, if you feel that the game is too easy for you, you can turn on the so-called Nightmare mode, which "raises" the difficulty to the maximum. For less than five euros, the offer of the two mentioned developers is definitely worth it.
