The sharp sale of the iPhone 14 Plus, i.e. the last of Apple's September innovations, starts already this Friday. The equipment is identical to the iPhone 14, but of course it has a larger display and battery. But if you have a crush on him, is it really worth spending the money on him, or is there a better solution? Yes, of course it is.

Apple pretty much killed it this year with the price of its new products on the European market. So it's not directly his fault, but the global situation, although it must be said that if he relaxed a little on the heights of his margins, his iPhones would be sold a little more. Of course, the question is whether it even wants it, when it still doesn't have time to cover the demand, especially for the 14 Pro models. Perhaps that is why the iPhone 14 Plus is coming to the market only now, i.e. a month after the introduction of the phone.

You can count the news on the fingers of one hand

This year's iPhone 14 Pro does bring several advantages over its predecessor, including a more powerful chip, a completely improved camera setup, and the Dynamic Island feature. But what else can iPhone 14 do? If we leave aside secondary functions such as traffic accident detection and satellite communication, which is unavailable in our country, it was precisely the area of cameras that was improved here. However, compared to the paper values, it is not so strong. At least according to Apple, the iPhone 14 Plus has the longest battery life of any iPhone. But is that enough?

The advantage of the iPhone 14 Plus is of course its size, which has a 6,7" display. It therefore gives a large diagonal even to those who do not need the functions of the Pro Max model. But here comes a rather important question: Why buy an iPhone 14 Plus and not look at last year's iPhone 13 Pro Max? They have the same chips, the same cutout, but the 13 Pro Max throws in a telephoto lens, LiDAR, and an adaptive display refresh rate. Its selfie camera can't focus automatically and there's no action mode, and the video camera can't handle 4K resolution, but that's only decisive for a handful of users.

But where to buy?

If we look at the situation objectively, it's a bit sad to recommend buying last generation over the current one. But the iPhone 14 Plus simply does not reach the quality of the iPhone 13 Pro Max. The problem is, however, where to get last year's model now. With the current iPhone 14 Pro, last year's professional series cleared store shelves, which is a classic Apple strategy. The latter only keeps the older basic series on sale, and the Pro versions have a lifespan of only one year.

The iPhone 14 Plus will cost you CZK 128 in its 29GB version. Last year, the new iPhone 990 Pro Max cost CZK 13, and you can currently get it across e-shops for CZK 33, which is definitely worth paying the extra two thousand for the extra options. Of course you can also try Ebay or FB Marketplace, where you can get even better prices, usually but more in the area of refurbished devices. Here, however, it is also worth considering whether you would really mind this, because you can save a lot of money and the result is actually the same, just perhaps with a shortened warranty.

The situation is simpler if you are looking for a higher memory variant. The iPhone 14 Plus will cost you CZK 256 in the 33GB version, and CZK 490 in the 512GB version. However, the higher memory configurations of the iPhone 39 Pro Max are more affordable, because of course they also cost more and the biggest hunger is for basic storage.
