Our little country in the heart of Europe has seen a lot of interesting things this year when it comes to Apple. The first was the presence of the Czech Republic in the first international wave of iPad 2 sales, then came the integrated Czech language in OS X Lion. Now she got something new from Apple – the official Apple Online Store.
If you visit the site www.apple.com/cz/, the inscription "Good day, Czech Republic" will immediately smile at you. It is this that attracts you to the newly opened Apple e-shop. In addition to the classic offer, we can finally configure our Mac in an easy way and order accessories directly for it. You pay 125 CZK for postage, for orders over 2995 CZK postage is free.
The big news is the engraving of inscriptions on ordered iPads and iPods. You can add a donation to your apple donation for free. If you want to make your gift even better, you can have it stylishly wrapped for an additional fee of 99 crowns. If you don't know what to do when shopping, the newly introduced helpline will certainly please you, where a Czech operator will gladly and free of charge answer your questions about Apple products.
The menu also includes all versions of the iPhone, including the previous model 3 GS with a capacity of 8 GB. At the same time, the prices are slightly lower than those of some operators who offer an unsubsidized phone. You will pay CZK 16 for a 14 GB iPhone, and just under CZK 490 for a 32 GB version. Hopefully this will force the Czech operators to offer more favorable prices, at least in the case of subsidized phones.
After all, the Apple Online Store is not only competition for operators, but above all for the Czech APR and other official or unofficial sellers. Apple offers its products at recommended prices, the same as Apple Premium Resseler. At least with them, customers have the opportunity to see and touch the products live, after all, not everyone prefers a purely virtual purchase.
It would be great if we could see offers from Apple such as refurbished devices, which are often offered at a significantly lower price, while they are practically new with a full warranty. Either way, the Apple Online Store is good news, and the only question that remains is when we will see our own Apple Store and iTunes Store. Soon I hope.
So far, the three-year Apple care option that other stores on the apple.com domain offer is missing. Damage. But the prices of the goods were a pleasant surprise - when you add online card payment and free delivery, it's competition that can overwhelm the old established ones in some places.
Why don't you mention that they have a one-year limited warranty written on the iMac... :-)
I would say because it is a quick piece of information. I think you can wait for further analysis later. Editors are not robots, and let's be thankful that they even write on a topic that interests us! That's probably why...
The mistakes are starting to annoy me. It's either my keyboard or my brain.
necessary because the information is wrong and it is clear that the warranty for all goods sold in CR is 2 years by law. apple can write whatever it wants, the warranty is 2 years.
You are not quite right. Two years are valid for the end customer. So if two traders agree between themselves, ok it can be one year, but the one who sells to end customers must provide two years.
The exception is for used or bazaar goods.
but here, as I understand from the shop, it is a relationship between "Czech branch of Apple" and "Czech customer" ... so it should apply that the warranty is according to Czech law, i.e. 2 years ...
It only applies to Czech stores, the Apple online store is in Ireland.
I would say that we would be the only country in the EU where the laws in the given country are not followed. If I'm not mistaken, the warranty in Germany is also 2 years, right? And do goods to Germany also go through Ireland? When I look at the prices, after recalculation they are plus or minus the same as in Germany. Why should we be disadvantaged? From the Czech pages of the Apple website, I understand that this is "our" Czech online apple store, nowhere is it written that this is an Irish shop in order to comply only with Irish laws with a 1-year warranty...
It is always written in the footer of the website: Prices are shown including VAT (20%), but do not include delivery charges (unless stated otherwise). As VAT is charged in the country from which Apple Sales International supplies its products, which is the Republic of Ireland, the rate of VAT on electronic downloads of software or other Apple products which are classified as services under VAT laws is , set at 21%. The order form displays the VAT of the products selected by you.
In Germany, they have a warranty for products that is given by the manufacturer (unless the seller extends it at all costs or you buy it in some way - Apple care, Microsoft extended warranty, seller's extended warranty, etc.). In the case of Apple (as well as Microsoft) it is only a year. If you don't believe me, you should go to the Apple store in Drazdan and see. As for Microsoft and others, also verified by personal experience. I bought an Xbox there as a child (because it was 3 tons cheaper than in the Czech Republic) and then I was quite surprised when I found out on the sales receipt that I only had a one-year warranty.
Apple also opened an online store in Poland, Hungary and the Emirates today.
While you are dealing with guarantees here, the opening of new iStores has now driven Apple shares to the limit of USD 402 (17:00 CET) and is steeply approaching the historical high of 404,50 from July this year.
That's right, the stock briefly soared to $411,5, an all-time high.
I noticed that they also offer SW there. I would like to know if, if I order, for example, the CS 5.5 upgrade, if it will be the Czech version. The same, for example, with Parallels 7. Does anyone know how it is with this?
Well, this definitely made me happy, finally something is happening here :) this is just the beginning, more Czech iTunes and then a brick and mortar store and I'll be satisfied :)
One info. It's probably obvious, but I was pleasantly surprised - he was buying an ipod touch case combined with a battery (by the way, I've been looking for it for a long time) and I didn't have to give my card payment details blah blah, but I just had to enter my Apple ID and I bought…
Just like how apps are bought…. A small thing, but I was pleasantly surprised...
Hello.
I don't like the forum, so I'll write it here, it also has something to do with the app store, and I mean the classic apple store t-shirt and there are 3 types of it. Black with the apple logo, blue with the genius bar logo and blue with the apple logo in the middle.
Any chance to buy a desk pad? Do you have any source for this? In appstores in England, when I was looking for them here and there, they seemed to be worried about their jobs :-D, and the moment I mentioned the black market or the sub-desk, they left :-D.
Do any of you have the opportunity to get to the origo t-shirts that we see in the appstores?
Thanks so much for all the insights and responses.
Alternatively, write me an email if it would be possible to agree on something.

eBay :)
I have no experience with it, so I'm quite afraid to buy from the USA like that.
