The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, is the world's largest consumer electronics trade fair, which has been held in Las Vegas every year since 1967. It is an event that usually features new products that will be sold on the global market that year. This year it lasts from January 5 to 8.

However, due to the ongoing pandemic, it also has a certain hybrid form. Some novelties are thus presented only online, and some, even if the fair is sponsoring them, were even presented before its opening. Below you will find the most interesting news directly related to Apple products and services.

Targus Backpack with Find platform integration

Accessory manufacturer Targus announced, that its Cypress Hero EcoSmart Backpack will offer built-in support for the Find platform. It should be available at the turn of spring and summer of this year for a suggested retail price of $149,99, i.e. approximately CZK 3. The backpack is equipped with a small tracking module that allows you to track its location in the Find It app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch without having to use the AirTag. There should also be an exact search function.

The company also said the built-in tracker is "highly integrated" into the backpack itself, a clear advantage over the AirTag, which can be removed from the backpack and thrown away if stolen. The backpack also comes with a replaceable battery that can be recharged via USB.

Accessories for MagSafe

SOCIETY Scosche stated a number of new products in its MagicMount product line, along with other MagSafe-compatible accessories such as wireless chargers and stands. But it's a bit sad that even though the company uses the MagSafe label, it's not actually certified. The magnets will therefore hold the iPhone 12 and 13, but they will only be charged at 7,5 W.

But if the holders are rather boring, the MagSafe speakers are certainly unusual. While they also take virtually no software advantage of the technology, the idea of attaching a speaker to the back of an iPhone with a magnet is quite interesting. In addition, BoomCanMS Portable costs only 40 dollars (approx. 900 CZK). Certainly more eye-catching is the larger MagSafe BoomBottle speaker priced at $130 (approx. CZK 2), on which you can place your iPhone nicely and thus have full access to its display. Both speakers should be available later this year.

An even smarter toothbrush

Oral-B has introduced its latest iO10 smart toothbrush with iOSense, which builds on the original iO toothbrush released in 2020. However, the key new feature is "coaching your oral health" in real time through the toothbrush's charging base. This allows you to monitor the cleaning time, the ideal pressure and the total coverage of the cleaning performed without having to take your iPhone into the second hand. But of course, your data is synchronized with the Oral-B app after cleaning to give you a better overview of your habits. There are 7 different cleaning modes and a built-in pressure sensor indicating the ideal one with the help of colored diodes. Price and availability have not been announced.

Nominated for a CES 2022 Innovation Award, this docking station also features a built-in SSD slot (M.2 SATA/NVMe) with a simple push-to-release mechanism and support for up to 2TB of storage, along with nine additional connectivity options, including one HDMI port, microSD card slot, one USB-C port, four USB-A ports and power. Silver and white versions are already available to order on the company's website for a price of $199,99 (approx. CZK 4).
