Intel's CEO talked about a possible future during yesterday's call with investors. The imaginary glow of the spotlight fell mainly on the mention of an investment of 20 billion dollars, which will go into the construction of two new factories in the US state of Arizona. People were also surprised by the statement that Intel intends to establish a cooperation with Apple, for which it would like to become a supplier of their Apple Silicon chips and manufacture them directly for them. At least that's what he hopes for now.

Intel CEO, Pat Gelsinger

It's interesting because last week Intel just started the campaign "Go PC,” in which he points out the general shortcomings of M1 Macs that make a standard Windows PC with an Intel processor playfully pocket them. Intel even released an advertising spot in which the actor Justin Long, known to apple fans, appeared in the main role - he played the role of Mac years ago in the advertising series "I'm a Mac,” which was almost identical, only pointing out the shortcomings of computers for a change. Of course, this raised a lot of questions. But this time, Long has changed his coat and is calling for apple competition.

Today, fortunately, we received a lighter explanation of the whole event. Portal Yahoo! Finance in fact, he released an interview with the director himself, Pat Gelsinger, who described their anti-Mac campaign as a healthy dose of competitive humor. Over the last few years, computers in general have seen amazing and unprecedented innovations, thanks to which the demand for a classic PC is at its highest point in the last 15 years. And that is exactly why the world allegedly needs such campaigns. But how does Intel plan to get Apple back on its side? In this direction, Gelsinger argues quite simply. So far, only TSMC is responsible for the production of apple chips, which is thus an absolutely key supplier. If Apple bet on Intel and entrust some of its production to it, it could bring fresh diversification to its supply chain and put itself in a stronger position. He went on to add that Intel is capable of delivering amazing technologies that no one else in the world can handle.

The whole thing seems rather laughable and it will definitely be interesting to see how the situation continues to develop. Gaining a new partner would undoubtedly be beneficial for Apple, but we have to remember that this is still Intel. In the past, the Cupertino company faced a number of problems, when, for example, Intel was unable to deliver processors for Apple computers. At the same time, user confidence in this processor manufacturer is decreasing. Many sources claim that the quality of the company went down steeply, which can also be seen in the growing popularity of competitor AMD. We must also definitely not forget to mention that, for example, even Samsung often compares its phones with the iPhone and thus puts them in a stronger position, but the companies still work together.
