Relatively unexpected words sound from the mouth of the top representative of Huawei in the address of Apple. The CEO rejects any retaliation by his country and talks about separating politics from business.

Ren Zhengfei is the long-time CEO of Huawei. That's why she was surprised by his words, in which sided with Apple and rejects any retaliatory measures planned by the Chinese government against the US. Ren talks about the necessary separation of political struggle from business.

Some analysts are already speculating that China's upcoming retaliation may end up harming all American companies. Among them is also Apple, which would lose up to a third of its profit. A simple ban by the Chinese government for US companies is enough, just as America did for Chinese ones.

"First of all, it's not going to happen. Second, if it happens by chance, I will be the first to protest,” says Ren. “Apple is my teacher, it guides me. Why would I, as a student, go against my teacher? Never."

Those are some pretty strong words coming from a man who leads a company accused of stealing the intellectual property of American companies. Meanwhile, Huawei is facing lawsuits from companies such as Cisco, Motorola, and T-Mobile, not only regarding mobile network technologies. Ren denies it all.

“I stole America's technology of tomorrow. The US doesn't have these technologies at all yet," he claims. "We are ahead of the US. If we were behind, Trump wouldn't be attacking us so hard."

After all, the current Huawei CEO does not hide his opinion of the American president.

Huawei CEO versus President Trump

Ren says he is not a politician. "It's funny," he scoffs. "How are we connected to Sino-American trade?"

“If Trump calls me, I will ignore him. Who can he deal with then? If they try to call me, I don't have to answer. Besides, he doesn't even have my number.'

In fact, Ren does not attack the man he referred to as "the great president" just a few months ago. "When I see his tweets, it's laughable how contradictory they are," he added. "How did he become a master trader?"

Ren also added that he is not worried about the possible loss of the trade partnership with the US. Although his company is currently dependent on American chips, Huawei has already built up a significant stockpile ahead of time. It suspected problems after the previous ban of another Chinese company, ZTE. In the future, he intends to produce his own chips.

“The US has never bought products from us?” he said. "And if they happen to want to in the future, we simply don't have to sell them. There is nothing to negotiate.'
