The largest exhibition in the world specializing in the world of Apple is already at the door. The gates of the fair will open in San Francisco on January 5th and they will remain open for a full 5 days. But for us users, the single most important presentation from this exhibition is – keynote by Philip Schiller, vice president of product marketing. It will take place in Tuesday, January 6 at 18:00 CET. Unfortunately, Steve Jobs had already announced in advance that he would not participate in the keynote. Let's just hope it's not for health reasons, as has been speculated for a long time. And what products are being speculated about?

iPhone Nano

What in the recent past looked like great speculation and perhaps the wish of some users, now appears very real indeed. Even the renowned manufacturer of iPhone cases, the Vaja brand, introduced the iPhone Nano to its product line. So everything points to the fact that in a few days it really will we will see the launch of a smaller version of the Apple iPhone. This phone should also be cheaper than its bigger brother, and I expect some features to be limited (would the GPS chip take away from that?).

Mac Mini and iMac

These two very popular products really need an upgrade. Upgraded versions have been rumored since September of last year, but now everything is coming together so well that it could happen. Evidence appeared in the kext files of the new unibody Macbooks, which confirmed that the new ones Both iMac and Mac Mini will have Nvidia chipsets. The new Mac Mini is expected to get at least the Nvidia 9400M graphics card that appears in the unibody Macbook. Personally, I assume a heavier, smaller and more powerful Mac Mini and iMac would need a powerful graphics card and LED display.

iLife 09

A new version of the iLife office suite often appears at Macworld. This time it is speculated that the software iWork (Pages, Numbers and Keynote) should happen web application. It would probably become part of MobileMe services. A nice example of what Keynote for the web could look like can be found on the website 280slides.com, which were created by a former Apple employee.

But that's not all, because on the web could look and the iMovie program. It is not entirely clear if it would appear directly as a web application or if it would just be an extension for the current native program, but something is in short order. This web service would be unusable for HD video, so the current native version of the program will definitely remain.

A smaller iPod Shuffle

The iPod Shuffle is already slowly looking for something redesign and Macworld could be the right moment. It is expected that the new iPod Shuffle should be slightly smaller.

A cheaper Macbook

Although many people are impatiently waiting for a netbook, analysts rather expect a discount on current Macbooks or possibly entry of some cheaper model. At the time of the mortgage crisis, Apple will have trouble selling Macbooks at current prices, so the creation of a cheaper model would be a logical step.

Apple multitouch tablet

The multitouch tablet is being talked about more and more. Apple has reportedly been working on it for 1,5 years. It should be a device very similar to the current iPod Touch, but it should be about 1,5 times larger. But we probably won't see it at Macworld. The prototype is said to be ready, but it should wait until the premiere in the fall of 2009.

Snow Leopard

Although it was originally expected that the new operating system for Apple's Snow Leopard computers would go on sale as early as January's MacWorld, the events of the last few months do not give much indication of that. It seems that there is still a lot of work to be done on this operating system, so we can expect it sometime during the first quarter this year, if all goes well.

We will see what Philip Schiller will present to us in his speech. Therefore, an update of the current products and a smaller version of the iPhone are mainly expected. On Tuesday 6.1. watch my site in the early evening and you will definitely find out about all the news.
