In today's review, we will introduce the smart calculator Calcbot from the developers of Tapbots. This is only a few days old application, which we will now introduce in more detail.
The graphic processing has a very pleasant and decent impression. Calculator buttons are color-coded according to type and function (e.g., numbers are gray, signs are dark blue, functions are light blue). The display of history is also nicely solved.
Calcbot contains both the classic menu (plus, minus, times, divided) and the one for more demanding users who need something extra (exaggeration, simple or complex exponentiation, logarithms, functions tan, cos, sin, etc.). You can easily and quickly switch between the "simple" and "complex" menu by swiping to the right or left (depending on which menu you are currently using). The app settings are very brief, it includes sound on/off, currency sign on/off for calculations, info and Calcbot support.
What I find very useful is the history of results including their calculations. History gives the impression of the tape we know from older types of office calculators. In addition, you can further use the results in the history. You can choose from: use the result (e.g. for further calculations), use the entire calculation (you can subsequently modify it, e.g. when an error is detected), copy and send by e-mail. You can access the history by swiping up. When you view your history, you will also see your history settings. There you will find send the entire "tape" by e-mail and delete the "tape". The overall control in the application is very intuitive.
Calcbot definitely won me over. The application is fast, clear and you can tell that the authors really cared. I can imagine that I won't need my school scientific calculator anymore, because Calcbot offers most of the functions and will replace it playfully. Comparing it with the default Calculator in the iPhone makes no sense at all, it makes a very clumsy impression against it.
Pros:
- Appearance
- Intuitive operation
- History
- Feature menu
- Displaying calculations
I didn't notice any negatives. However, someone may consider its price as a negative, which could be too much for "simple" calculations. However, I personally think that you will not regret buying the application and the price will be perfectly fine.
You can find Calcbot in the AppStore for €1,59 – App Store link.

I like it! :)
I really like that, just like on Casio calculators, you can see what I'm clicking (brackets, square roots, etc.)
Exactly, I like it too. It is a special advantage for those who use long calculations including brackets and such :).
Why are there no percentages?
Calcbot contains percentages, they are in the menu with numbers.
High price?
I would pay at least €45 for this Casio
The one who needs it has nothing to do...
That's not what I meant, it's clear that compared to a normal calculator it's a mess. I meant more that there are simply users who find €1,59 for a simple looking app just too much. That is why there is an addition that they will not regret the purchase.
The application looks good, except that it lacks something that is important for complex patterns :/ And that's fractions. By that I mean if there are several fractions one above the other in one sample, then cracking it in the head is a mischief-maker. Yes, I will add this function too, so great. It's just a shame that the phone can't be used for tests :D Explaining to someone that it's a full-fledged calculator is a shameless end :P
Not bad, but slow compared to the built-in app. The acoustic click is not at all synchronous with the keyboard presses
