Twenties of the twentieth century. Prohibition is hard-fought in Chicago, USA. However, alcohol is just as easily accessible to people thanks to enterprising criminals, gangsters and crime bosses who keep the distribution chain running, at the end of which a bottle of booze is in the hands of a satisfied customer. You, as one of the ambitious criminals who want to build an empire on illegal sales, cannot miss such a business opportunity. This is the basic premise of the strategy game Empire of Sin.

However, the developers from Romero Games will not put you in the role of some insignificant thief in this way, at the beginning of the game you will have a choice between fourteen real historical figures. Do you want to play Al Capone or Goldie Garneau? Not a problem. In the skin of one of these criminal legends, you will then build your empire, which means recruiting new members to the gang, taking care of individual businesses and fending off attacks from rival gangs.

An important part of the game is the combat system. You'll control your pods in turn-based combat that feels like it's straight out of the XCOM series. You will mainly think about the correct positioning of your gangsters and the most efficient use of their special abilities. The time to use such physical arguments will come every time the otherwise relatively peaceful management of your businesses gets out of hand. However, keeping all your casinos, secret pubs, and entertainment venues under control sometimes requires the use of a trusty revolver.
