I've never been a big fan of building strategies. However, the minimalist game Mini Metro absorbed me literally from the first bite. I very quickly put myself in the shoes of a designer who is in charge of the complete management of the underground railway in the world's capitals. Mini Metro is a successful example of the fact that you don't need complex procedures and spectacular graphics to have quality gaming fun.

Some may already know Mini Metro from computers. But now mobile players on iPhones and iPads can also enjoy this simple, but more than challenging game for the brain. And considering the way of control and the whole gameplay, the arrival of Mini Metro on iOS is a logical step.

Your task is simple: in each city, you have to build an efficient and functioning metro network so that passengers can get where they want to go without any problems, and above all, on time. The role of passengers in the Mini Metro is taken over by various geometric shapes, which also symbolize individual stops. At first, you start with simple shapes such as squares, circles and triangles, but as time goes by, the offer becomes more and more diverse and the task harder – because every square wants to get to the square station, etc.

At first glance, connecting an ever-increasing number of stations may seem easy, but creating a truly efficient line network is definitely not that simple. After all, you will probably soon find out about this, and before you find the right system to run the lines, disaster will happen several times, which in the case of the Mini Metra is an overcrowded station and the end of the game.

The end of the week can often save you in the game, because then you always get a new line, train, wagon, terminal or tunnel or bridge to help you to further expand your transport network and manage it efficiently. In the classic mode, you can also demolish already built lines again, which will make your life easier. If you play in extreme mode, then every hit is final. On the other hand, Mini Metro also offers a mode where the stations can't get overcrowded at all and you can watch your passengers without stress.

The attractive thing about the Mini Metro is that there is no one right way to build the lines. Sometimes it is better to cover the city and connect it with, for example, adjacent islands with a densely networked route, other times it is better to build longer routes and send more trains with wagons on them. Every city, from Osaka to São Paulo, has its own specifics, be it in the speed of the trains or the geographical distribution of the stations. But one piece of advice is always useful in the Mini Metro: the more different stations you have on one line, the less passengers will have to transfer and the more satisfied they will be.
