After a long wait, Bravery Netwrok Online has finally entered Early Access. It reminds me of the long hours spent catching and training pocket monsters in the Pokémon game series. In addition to a similar combat system, your success in Bravery Netwrok Online will also depend on recruiting and building relationships with your team members. However, comparing the newly released game with the Japanese series, which has been stagnant for years, is not entirely fair. Bravery Network Online brings many of its own ideas to the tried and tested muster.

The story of the game lands you in an unspecified future in the world of Tower 6. There, the new sport of Bravery enjoys immense popularity. Technology has been able to bring unprecedented well-being to the inhabitants of the world, so sport is one of the few activities in which they can experience a real adrenaline rush. You enter the world as a coach of one of the teams. It will be your duty to recruit the best athletes to your team and form meaningful relationships with them. Their success will not only depend on their fighting skills, but also on the level of self-confidence that you, as a trainer, can instill in them.

The battle system itself is heavily inspired by the aforementioned Pokémon. During individual moves, you and your opponent will send individual members of your teams to each other. Each of them has a number of different attacks that, in addition to simple damage, can also manipulate the state of the opponent's team. During the fight, you don't know what attacks your opponents will use in the next move, so you have to be able to predict well what your opponent is going to do against you. For more competitive players, Bravery Network Online also offers a multiplayer mode in which you can challenge opponents from around the world. It is not yet clear when the full version of the game will be released.
