… or turn your iPad 2 into a full-fledged laptop. This is also how the first impressions of using the new one could be summed up bluetooth keyboard for Apple iPad 2.

Keyboard

If you plan to use your iPad for regular work (for example, I created this review on it), you'll be better off with a real, physical keyboard. Compared to the classic on-screen keyboard on the iPad, this will give you much more space for typing. In addition, it also has buttons for quick orientation in the device, so you will really only need to reach directly to the iPad screen. Support for all basic keyboard shortcuts such as Command +C / +X / +V / +A etc. is also implemented.

The keyboard connects to the iPad using Bluetooth and the entire connection process is described in the attached instructions. The only point of pairing that could potentially be a problem is the need to copy the security code. It will appear on the iPad during synchronization (the code must be typed on the keyboard and the enter key must be pressed). This is so that the devices can identify each other and communicate with each other.

The top line of the keyboard can certainly be considered a real advantage, apart from typing itself. Here, instead of the classic F keys, you will find a whole range of function keys, such as displaying the main menu, the search button, brightening/darkening the brightness, starting a photo presentation, extending/retracting the image iPad keyboard, complete iPod control or the lock button for locking.

The keyboard is turned on with the classic On / Off sliding button on the lower right, right next to the "connect" button, which is used to send a bluetooth signal to the surrounding area when paired with an iPad. Charging is then carried out using the included USB - miniUSB cable (charging time is 4-5 hours according to the manufacturer, and then lasts up to 60 days).

If anything can be read from the keyboard as such, it is probably that the labels with Czech characters (èščřžýáíé) are missing on the upper number line - which, as you can see, work without any problems. It should also be noted that the keyboard is as wide as the width of the iPad, so even though typing is much more comfortable than on an on-screen keyboard. Nevertheless, it still cannot compare to a large classic ergonomic keyboard.

Dock @ Cover to it

The title says "Bluetooth keyboard, dock and cover in one for Apple iPad 2″. In this part of the review, I would like to mention the other functions that this accessory offers. Thanks to its keyboard design, it fulfills all these characteristics. On the upper side of the solid aluminum base of the keyboard, there is an elongated groove with plastic stops, where the iPad can be supported both horizontally and vertically. In both cases, the tilt of the device is ideal for comfortable typing and looking at the iPad.

The possibility of using the keyboard as a protective cover for the iPad can be described as a great show. All you have to do is insert the iPad from one side with the edge to the keyboard and from the other side click it comfortably. The keyboard is equipped with magnetic points to automatically lock the iPad when inserted into the "cover". Protected in this way, the iPad looks really cool. Not only do you protect your device from any external damage, but you are also guaranteed to get curious looks from those around you.
