When Apple first revealed the M1 chip from the Apple Silicon family, it took the breath away of many Apple fans. The new Macs in which this chip beats are characterized by incredible performance, low energy consumption and agility. In addition, it is no secret that new Apple computers with a newer generation Apple chip will be revealed to us quite soon. A wave of speculation is constantly spreading around exactly that. Fortunately, Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, which we can undoubtedly consider a reliable source.

MacBook Air

The new MacBook Air could arrive around the end of this year and should once again push performance forward. Bloomberg specifically talks about the product being equipped with a so-called "high-end" successor to the M1 chip. As for the CPU, we should expect 8 cores again. But the change will occur in the graphics performance, where we can look forward to 9 or 10 cores, instead of the current 7 and 8. Gurman did not specify whether there will also be a change in design. Earlier, however, the well-known leaker Jon Prosser talked about the fact that in the case of Air, Apple will be inspired by last year's iPad Air and the new 24″ iMac and will bet on the same, or at least similar, colors.

Redesigned MacBook Pro

The arrival of the 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro, which will feature a new design, has been talked about for some time now. In the case of this model, Apple should bet on a newer design with sharper edges. According to the latest information, the biggest improvement should come again in the form of performance. The giant from Cupertino is going to equip the "Pročka" with a chip with a 10-core CPU (with 8 powerful and 2 economical cores). In the case of the GPU, we will then be able to choose between 16-core and 32-core variants. The operating memory should also increase, which will increase from the maximum 16 GB to 64 GB, just as it is the case with the current 16″ MacBook Pro. In addition, the new chip should support more Thunderbolt ports and thus expand the device's connectivity in general.

According to earlier Bloomberg reports, the Pro model should also bring the long-awaited return of some connectors. Specifically, we can look forward to, for example, an HDMI port, an SD card reader and power via MagSafe. 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro could then enter the market this summer.

High-end Mac mini

In addition, in Cupertino, work should now also be done on a significantly more powerful version of the Mac mini, which will offer a noticeably more powerful chip and more ports. For this model, it is expected that in its case, Apple will bet on the same chip that we described above for the MacBook Pro. Thanks to this, it achieves the same processor and graphics performance and offers identical options when choosing the size of the operating memory.

Remember the introduction of the Mac mini with the M1:

As for the connectors, the Mac mini will offer four Thunderbolts on the back instead of the previous two. Currently, we can buy from Apple either a Mac mini with an M1 chip, or go for a more "professional" version with Intel, which also offers the four mentioned connectors. It is this new piece that Intel should replace.

Mac Pro

If you regularly follow the news from the world of Apple, you probably did not miss the information about the potential development of the Mac Pro, which would run an incredibly powerful Apple Silicon chip. After all, this was indicated by Bloomberg earlier and now brings new information. This new model should be equipped with an incredible chip with a processor with up to 32 powerful cores and up to 128 GPU cores. Allegedly, work should now be done on two versions – 20-core and 40-core. In that case, the chip would consist of a processor with 16/32 powerful cores and 4/8 power-saving cores.

It is also interesting that chips from Apple Silicon are less energy-intensive and do not need as much cooling as, for example, processors from Intel. Due to this, a design change is also in play. Specifically, Apple could shrink the entire Mac Pro, with some sources talking about a return to the look of the Power Mac G4 Cube, whose design is still incredibly stunning after all these years.
