The possible transition of the iPhone from the Lightning connector to USB-C has been discussed for years. Although many users would have seen a similar change a long time ago, Apple is still not into it for some reasons. Lightning has its undoubted advantages. It is not only more durable, but at the same time the Cupertino giant has it completely under its thumb, thanks to which it also generates profit from the licensing of MFi (Made for iPhone) accessories. USB-C, on the other hand, is the standard today and can be found practically everywhere, including some Apple products such as Macs and some iPads.

Although Apple is clinging to its proprietary connector tooth and nail, circumstances are forcing it to change. For a long time, it was said that rather than the iPhone switching to USB-C, it would rather be completely portless and handle charging and synchronization wirelessly. MagSafe technology was offered as a hot candidate for this position. It came with the iPhone 12 and currently it can only charge, which is obviously not enough. Unfortunately, the European Union, which has been lobbying for the introduction of a standard in the form of USB-C for several years, is throwing a pitchfork at Apple's plans. What does this mean for Apple?

Destroying the idea of Think Different?

At the moment, very interesting speculations and leaks are starting to appear among Apple fans that in the case of the iPhone 15, Apple will finally switch to USB-C. Although this is just speculation that may not actually come true, it gives us an interesting insight into the whole situation - especially when it comes from one of the most accurate analysts and leakers ever. In addition, only one thing follows from this information. It is not in Apple's power to bring a high-quality and reliable portless alternative in a timely manner, so there is nothing left but to submit to the European authorities. Considering this, however, a very interesting discussion was sparked among the apple growers.

Steve-Jobs-Think-Different

Is this change a harbinger of the demise of the idea itself Think different, on which Apple is largely built? Some think that if Apple has to submit like this in the area of the "stupid" connector, the situation will probably go much further. After all, the Cupertino giant would thus lose the possibility of having its own, arguably the most advanced, port (and not only) on its phones. Subsequently, we still have fans on the opposite side of the barricade who hold a diametrically opposed opinion. According to them, the whole concept of the mentioned idea has long since collapsed, as the company is no longer so innovative and plays more on the safe side, which, although in its position as one of the most valuable companies in the world, makes sense. How do you view these speculations? Is the forced switch to USB-C truly a harbinger of doom Think different, or did the idea die out years ago?
