Vratislav Holub Black Friday is the name for the fourth Friday of November, when huge sales start. Although this marketing move was first applied primarily in the United States of America, it gradually expanded to almost the entire world, including the Czech Republic. By the end of November, you can see all kinds of discounts on practically every corner. Apple is no exception in this regard, although our country is lagging behind. What events did you prepare for Czech apple growers in the past and how was it in the company's homeland?

Do you want a discount card?
Apple in the last three years (2018 – 2020) for purchase selected products offers gift cards to the Apple Store, both in the USA and in the Czech Republic. Anyway, the interesting thing is that in 2018 and 2019 we could get a card worth up to 4800 crowns (up to 200 dollars in the USA), so in 2020 it was slightly different. Last year, Apple "only" gave out cards worth a maximum of 3600 crowns. Of course, these amounts apply to Mac purchases, which are generally the most expensive of the entire range. So let's do a quick recap of the past year:
- iPhone: 1 CZK (in 200-2018 it was 2019 CZK)
- iPad: up to 2400 CZK (in 2018-2019 it was up to 2 CZK)
- Mac: 3 CZK (in 600-2018 it was 2019 CZK)
- Apple Watch: 600 CZK (in 2018-2019 it was 1 CZK) – the promotion always applied only to Series 200
- Apple TV: 1 CZK (in 200-2018 it was 2019 CZK)
- Beats headphones: 1 CZK (in 200-2018 it was 2019 CZK)
- AirPods: 600 CZK (earphones were not part of the promotion before)
The entire event is labeled Apple's four-day shopping event, which, as the name suggests, lasts four days. As with other retailers, it starts on Black Friday and ends on the occasion of Cyber Monday, i.e. immediately after the given weekend. Based on previous years, it can therefore be expected that Apple will give out gift cards this year as well.
Apple buyers are looking for discounts elsewhere
It is therefore not surprising that, due to a relatively weak Black Friday at Apple, apple buyers are looking for other options and are turning to other sellers' promotional offers. After all, this does not only apply in the Czech Republic, as the exact same situation is also taking place in the United States of America. Specifically, you can buy discounted products from us as part of Black Friday, for example at Alge. In the case of the US, apple-grocers are keeping a close eye on potential discounts at retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon and Walmart.
