David Hanak Apple was expected to introduce the HomePod smart and wireless speaker sometime in December. Many users were looking forward to a completely new Apple product, with which the company would sharpen its focus in the segment of home audio technology. The first lucky ones should have arrived before Christmas, but as it turned out over the weekend, the HomePod will not arrive this year. Apple postponed its official release to next year. It is not yet clear when exactly we will see the new HomePod, in the company's official statement the term "early 2018" appears, so the HomePod should arrive sometime next year.

We can't wait for the first customers to try and experience what we have in store for them with HomePod. The HomePod is a revolutionary wireless speaker, and we unfortunately need a little more time to make it ready for everyone. We'll start shipping the speaker to first owners early next year in the US, UK and Australia.

It is largely unknown what the term "from the beginning of the year" can mean. Something similar happened in the case of the first generation Apple Watch, which was also supposed to arrive at the beginning of the year (2015). The watch did not hit the market until April. It is therefore possible that a similar fate awaits us with Home Podem. Waiting for it can be even worse because the first models will be available in only three countries.
