Wireless headphones and speakers are constantly on the rise. The cable is slowly and surely becoming a relic for many people, and if you are not a true audiophile, the Bluetooth solution already offers decent quality. The iFrogz brand, which belongs to the well-known company Zagg, also responds to this trend. The company recently introduced two new types of wireless in-ear headphones, a wireless headset and a small speaker. We tested all four devices in the editorial office and compared them with the usually more expensive competition.

"We're excited to continue to redefine what customers can expect at a reasonable price," said Dermot Keogh, director of international product management at Zagg. "iFrogz has long contributed to the wide availability of high-end wireless audio, and the new Coda series is no exception in this regard. All the products – the wireless in-ear and over-the-head headphones and the lightweight speaker – feature excellent features and great sound,” adds Keogh.

With the words of Zagg's product manager, one can definitely agree on one thing, and that is about the price of audio products from iFrogz. As for the great sound, I definitely don't agree with Keogh, because it's more of an average that doesn't offend, but at the same time doesn't dazzle in any way. But let's go in order.

Coda Wireless in-ear headphones

I tested the Coda in-ear headphones outdoors and at home. The headphones are quite light and their dominant element is the magnetic clip on which the control buttons are also located. Before first use, just pair the headphones: you hold down the middle button until the blue and red LEDs alternately flash. I like that immediately after pairing you can see the battery indicator on the top status bar of the iOS device, which is also located in the Notification Center.

The package also includes two replaceable ear tips. Personally, I have quite a problem with in-ear headphones, they don't fit me very well. Fortunately, one of the three sizes fit my ear well and I was able to enjoy listening to music, movies and podcasts. The headphones are charged using the included microUSB cable, and they lasted about four hours on one charge. Of course, you can also make phone calls using the headphones.

Two cables lead from the magnetic clip to the headphones, so before each use I put the headphones behind my head and attached the magnetic clip to the collar of a T-shirt or sweater. Unfortunately, it happened to me outside that the clip fell off on its own several times. I would also appreciate it if the headphone cables weren't the same length and the clip wasn't right in the middle. Then the buttons could be more accessible if I could put them closer to my neck or under my chin.

During outdoor walks, it also happened to me a few times that the sound jerked slightly due to the signal. The connection is therefore not completely 100%, and microsecond outages can spoil the music experience. On the clip you will also find buttons for volume control, and if you hold it down for a long time, you can skip the song forward or backward.

In terms of sound, the headphones are average. Definitely don't expect crystal clear sound, deep bass and a large range. However, it is sufficient for ordinary listening to music. I experienced the greatest comfort when setting the volume to 60 to 70 percent. The headphones have noticeable bass, pleasant highs and mids. I would also recommend headphones that are made of plastic for sports, for example to the gym.

In the end, the iFrogz Coda Wireless earphones will impress above all with their price, which should be around 810 crowns (30 euros). In a price/performance comparison, I can definitely recommend the headphones. If you are obsessed with quality headphones and brands like Bang & Olufsen, JBL, AKG, it is not worth trying iFrogz at all. Coda headphones are for users who, for example, do not have any wireless headphones at home and would like to try something with minimal purchase costs. You can also choose from several color versions.

InTone Wireless Headphones

iFrogz also offers the InTone Wireless headphones, which are very similar to the previous headphones. They are also offered in several colors and here you will find a magnetic clip with the same controls and charging method. What is fundamentally different is not only the price, performance, but also the fact that the headphones are not in-ear, but on the contrary have a seed-shaped shape.

I have to admit that the InTone fits much better in my ear. I've always preferred the seeds, which is also true for mine Apple's favorite AirPods. InTone beads are very discreet and light. As with the Coda Wireless, you will find a plastic body. The method of pairing and control is then completely identical, and there is also information about the battery in the status bar. You can use the headphones again to make phone calls.

The InTone headphones definitely play a bit better than the Cody brothers. A pleasant music experience is ensured by directional acoustics and 14 mm speaker drivers. The resulting sound is more natural and we can talk in a larger dynamic range. Unfortunately, even with this model, it sometimes happened to me that the sound dropped out for a while or got stuck unnaturally, even for just a second.

However, the InTone headphones cost a little more, around 950 crowns (35 euros). Again, I would use these headphones, for example, outside in the garden or while doing some work. I know many people who own expensive headphones but don't want to destroy them while working. In that case, I'd go with either the Coda Wireless tips or the InTone Wireless buds, depending on what fits you better.

Headphones Coda Wireless

If you don't like in-ear headphones, you can try the Coda Wireless headphones from iFrogz. These are made of soft plastic and the ear cups are lightly padded. The headphones also have an adjustable size, similar to, for example, Beats headphones. Adjust the headphones to the size of your head by pulling out the occipital bridge. On the right side you will find the on/off button, which is also used for pairing. Right next to it are two buttons for volume control and skipping songs.

The headphones are charged again using the included microUSB connector, and they can play for 8 to 10 hours on a single charge. In case you run out of juice, you can plug the included 3,5mm AUX cable into the headphones.

The headphones fit well on the ears, but they can be a little uncomfortable when listening for a long time. The padding in the area of the occipital bridge is missing and there is only slightly softer plastic than in the rest of the body. Inside the headphones are 40mm speaker drivers that offer average sound that is best at medium volume. When I set the volume to 100 percent, I couldn't even listen to the music. The headphones obviously couldn't keep up.

So again, I can recommend the Coda headphones for some outdoor work or as backup wireless headphones. Again, the manufacturer offers several color versions for a more than solid price of around 810 crowns (30 euros). The headphones can also be an ideal start for people who do not own any wireless headphones.

Small speaker Coda Wireless

The new iFrogz model line is completed by the wireless speaker Coda Wireless. It is very small in size and is perfect for traveling. The body is completely made of plastic again, while three control buttons are hidden on the bottom - on/off, volume and skipping songs. In addition, there is also an adhesive surface, thanks to which the speaker holds well on a table or other surface.

I also like that the speaker has a built-in microphone. So I can easily receive and handle calls through the speaker. The Coda Wireless speaker uses powerful 40mm speaker drivers and a 360-degree omnidirectional speaker, so it playfully fills an entire room. Personally, however, I wouldn't mind if the speaker had slightly more pronounced bass, but on the contrary, it at least has pleasant highs and mids. It can easily handle not only music, but also movies and podcasts.

It can play for about four hours on a single charge, which considering the size and body is quite an acceptable limit. You can buy the Coda Wireless speaker for only about 400 crowns (15 euros), which is a more than decent and affordable price. So everyone can easily buy their own small and portable speaker. A direct competitor for Coda Wireless is, for example JBL GO.
