After the experience with OS X Yosemite, Apple decided to let all users freely test the beta version of its iOS mobile operating system. Until now, only registered developers who pay $100 a year could download upcoming versions.

"The feedback we received on OS X Yosemite Beta continues to help us improve OS X, and now iOS 8.3 Beta is available for download," writes Apple on a special page where you can sign up for the test program. The Californian firm thus indicated that Yosemite's public testing was a success, so there is no reason not to transfer it to iOS as well.

It's good to point out that beta versions are often buggy, so you should always carefully consider whether it's appropriate to install a test version on your iPhone or iPad. However, if you want to try out some new features that are sometimes in beta, you now have the opportunity.

However, it appears that Apple is either not going to open up the iOS testing program to everyone, or is only just starting it, as we currently have on the login page only managed to open the OS X program.

In the third beta version of iOS 8.3, which was also released today, there were no significant news. The Apple Watch application is already available in it, but it is already publicly available from iOS 8.2, and in the Messages application, messages are now divided into numbers that you have saved and which numbers you don't.
