I usually don't mention software updates here, but today I'm going to make an exception. It's not because I haven't covered the BeejiveIM iPhone app here on the blog, but rather because  a major update has been released, which pleased more than one owner of this instant messenger.

From now on you can on BeejiveIM send and receive photos, voice messages, but also files on AIM (ICQ) or MSN networks. If the other party does not wish to receive the file immediately, it is possible to send them the file as a link to external pages.

And what is so great about BeejiveIM that it has gained so many fans? Mainly in that stays connected for up to 24 hours after you close the app. The application will keep you connected to the BeejiveIM servers, and immediately after you launch the application again, you will receive messages that you received during your inactivity. The application cannot directly notify you of incoming messages (it is against Apple rules, the application on the iPhone must not run in the background), but it at least sends you an email notification about an incoming message, which is especially suitable for users of an email inbox with the push principle (as soon as you run out of email) , so the email client on the iPhone will notify you immediately). Push is used, for example, by Apple's MobileMe service.

BeejiveIM on iPhone supports AIM, iChat, MSN, Yahoo, GoogleTalk, ICQ, Jabber and MySpace. In addition, it can, for example, save history, you can also write in width, smileys and much more. In the future, it should also be able to do group chats.

BeejiveIM is clearly at the moment the best program for instant messaging on the iPhone, but I also have to unfortunately report that it belongs to the most expensive. It is the price of $15.99 that will deter most users from buying. But BeejiveIM appears here and there at a discount. If you can't last a minute without your instant messaging account, then buying this app for iPhone is definitely worth it.
