I really like Beats in terms of design. They are robust, solid with a nice youthful design. What is noticeably worse is the quality of the reproduced sound. Considering the price tag, it is downright sad. With some exceptions, even competing models at half the price will "beat" them. It is a great design product with a very low utility value and a ruthlessly disadvantageous price/sound quality ratio.
As for the mentioned fakes, there are several fakes that have a better sound than the original Beats.
