On August 10, 1911, Jan Aleksander Rajchman was born in England - a scientist and inventor of Polish origin, who is considered one of the pioneers of computer technology and electrical engineering. Rajchman's father, Ludwik Rajchman, was a bacteriologist and founder of UNICEF. Jan A. Rajchman received a diploma at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 1935, three years later he received the title of Doctor of Science. He has a total of 107 patents to his credit, mostly related to logic circuits. Rajchman was a member of a number of elite scientific societies and associations, and also headed the RCA Computer Laboratory.

A Million Songs on iTunes (2009)

August 10, 2004 was also significant for Apple. On that day, she solemnly announced that the virtual music store iTunes Music Store already has a respectable one million songs on offer. In the iTunes Music Store, users could find tracks from all five major music labels and about six hundred smaller independent labels from around the world. At the time, Apple also boasted a 70% share of the total number of legal downloads of individual tracks and entire albums, and the iTunes Music Store became the world's number one online music service.
