Filip Brož New apps arrive in the App Store every week. Among them we can often find specially focused games and educational programs for children. Especially those that are in the Czech language, there are not too many, so we have to value most of them. One such educational application is certainly Babatoo Gallery HD, with which the little ones can play and learn at the same time. Babatto Gallery is especially intended for children of preschool age.
APIGRO developers state that the recommended age ranges from one year to five years. Babatoo Gallery HD could be characterized as an educational application that shows children the world. I deliberately use this designation because the application contains more than 540 photos that children can gradually discover through interactive pictures and flashcards.
Controlling the entire application is very simple and straightforward. From a practical point of view, I can imagine that you are, for example, a mother or father on maternity leave who needs to keep your little one busy for a while. You sit the child next to you in a chair, put the iPad on the table and turn on Babatoo Gallery HD. The rest will be learned by the child in no time.
After launch, a completely identical screen is always displayed, which hides a total of six options for how they can use the entire application. All categories are hidden in the bottom bar - there are five main categories and one test quiz to choose from. You can choose from categories such as pets, vehicles, musical instruments, safaris and jobs. After choosing a category, twelve picture cards are always waiting for you, which have a specific shape, for example animals, and when you open them, they always display another, this time a real picture, photo.
For example, I choose a job category and click on the picture of a doctor. Not only will I see a photo of a doctor, but at the same time I will always hear a Czech verbal description and the sound that characterizes the image. The trick is that if I click on the same card of the doctor again, I will receive a new unseen picture or even a different profession that is related to the doctor. In this case it was, for example, a veterinarian. The same principle applies throughout the application. For example, I choose a category of means of transport, select a picture of a car and immediately receive a real photo of a racing or passenger car, including a Czech description. Subsequently, I hear the sound of the engine and go back with the arrow icon.
Babatoo Gallery HD also includes an interactive quiz to test your knowledge. Your child will always hear a typical sound and his task is to match the correct card. If the answer is correct, the icon of a happy smiley will light up, and in case of a wrong choice, it will be a sad smiley. A correct answer is always followed by a new sound and new cards.
The application is intended exclusively for the hands of children, so it does not offer additional functions, so that the control is not too complicated. That is why even preschool children quickly learn to move in the Babatoo Gallery and can begin to explore the world. The presence of a parent is certainly not harmful, as it can add another added value to learning, but the child alone is also playfully sufficient.
Babatoo Gallery HD offers really high quality photos that are in high resolution, which I really liked. The application will certainly be appreciated not only by parents with children, but I can imagine its use in special education as well. The application itself is offered in several versions. A universal version is available in the App Store free, containing only 180 photographs. Full version for iPhone and iPads, which are no longer universal, cost 1,79 euros each.

I recommend the bitboards app. It's a great flashcard-like app for language learning. It contains a lot of different games and you can easily create your own cards to which pictures and sounds are automatically uploaded (or you can add your own). In addition, it contains many cards created by other users. Take a look at http://bitsboard.com
Unfortunately, bitsboard is only in EN language. The reviewed app has a spoken Czech dubbing by a child, which is very easy to understand and my children like it perhaps more than if it were spoken by an adult. I recommend trying it.
Sure, I'm just saying you can achieve a similar effect. That is, a card that shows you a description in Czech, a sound and a picture in Czech. What I don't like is that the application contains only 60 types of cards, that's quite a few but for the price it's ok (when I look at the price of similar real books for children). You can make as many as you want in bitsboards, you just have to list them there.
