Several large development studios specializing in custom mobile applications for the iOS and Android platforms currently operate on the Czech market. Today will be one less player in this competitive environment. The Prague developer studio Inmite was bought by the company Avast, which is known for developing antivirus solutions. The price of the acquisition was not disclosed, but it was estimated that it could exceed 100 million crowns. In the last year alone, Inmite had a turnover of over 35 million.

Since its inception, the developers at Inmite have wanted to create apps that make people's lives easier and better. And this has indeed been achieved in a number of areas, as evidenced by successful projects for telecommunications companies, banks or car manufacturers in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Germany. In order for the company to move forward and change the global mobile world, it needs a great partner who believes that mobile technology is the future. Avast shares this vision and is therefore ideally suited to partner with Inmite.

Barbora Petrová, spokesperson for Inmite

Until now, Inmite has been one of the largest and most important development studios for mobile applications in our country. They have over 150 apps for iOS, Android, and even Google Glass. Banking applications are among the most significant initiatives. This includes mobile clients for Air Bank, Raiffeisen Bank or Česká spořitelna. Of the other applications for operators and media, the applications Moje O2, ČT24 or Hospodářské noviny are worth mentioning. A team of 40 people will now become a part the mobile division of Avast, which will continue to develop the company's activities on mobile operating systems.

"With Inmit, we are getting a well-coordinated team of excellent mobile developers. This acquisition will help us accelerate our growth in mobile and expand our capabilities across mobile platforms," said Vincent Steckler, CEO of Avast Software.

Inmite will no longer accept new orders that have fed the studio until now, however, it will continue to cooperate with and provide support to current clients, such as the aforementioned banks and savings banks. "We have agreed individually with each client how we will continue our cooperation," Inmite spokeswoman Barbora Petrová confirmed to Jablíčkář. Air Bank, Raiffesenbank, and Česká spořitelna probably don't have to look for new developers yet, and therefore users don't have to worry, everything should remain the same in Inmite applications.
