I've never been a fan of the auto chess (sometimes called autobattler) genre. I missed the fun of buying, selling and upgrading individual soldiers even in the Battlegrounds game mode in the otherwise great Hearthstone. So maybe the developers at Emberfish Games had crackers like me in mind when they started working on their new game Hadean Tactics. She decides to move the genre of auto chess to tactical card games, where building your deck plays a big role and then, of course, the almighty chance of drawing cards.

In addition to the mentioned two genres, Hadean Tactics is also inspired by games with roguelike elements. So you'll start every game pretty much from scratch. In the case of Hadean Tactics, these are several available units that will fight for you in auto-battles. You can influence the outcome of each encounter by gradually improving your fighters, but mainly by using cards with different effects. You spend a limited amount of energy on those. When you use it all up, your units will start fighting with those of the enemy. However, unlike classic auto chess, the battle ends after seven seconds and gives you the opportunity to adjust the balance of power again by playing additional cards.

The developers emphasize the uniqueness of each played game, where the entire game map is always procedurally generated. Along with the changing dungeons, there is also the possibility to gradually unlock new cards, units and especially heroes. There is only one of them in the game so far, but others will come regularly in planned updates. Hadean Tactics is still in early access, but if you're a fan of any of its genres, don't hesitate to support the developer now.
