With the advent of the seven-series iPhones, which do not have the classic headphone jack, many people are starting to look for some kind of wireless headphones. Apple's AirPods are still nowhere in sight, so there's no choice but to look around for the competition. There are hundreds of wireless headphones, and we have now received the PureGear PureBoom headphones, which are particularly interesting for their price. PureGear is known for its sturdy and stylish covers and power cables, and its wireless headphones are the first of their kind.

Personally, I have long had a favorite in the field of wireless in-ear headphones. Jaybird X2 they have everything, great sound and performance. That's why I was very surprised when I first picked up the PureBoom headphones, how much they resembled the aforementioned Jaybirds. They share not only the packaging, but also variable ear tips, locking hooks and even a protective case. I feel like PureGear copied lightly and even tried to add something extra.

Magnetic on and off

The ends of both earphones are magnetic, thanks to which you can wear the earphones around your neck without worrying about losing them. However, the magnets are also used to turn the headphones on and off, which is very addictive. I wonder how come it hasn't been used by many more manufacturers a long time ago. Finally, I don't have to hold anything anywhere and feel the buttons on the controller. Just connect the headphones and put them in your ears.

However, I recommend trying all the ear tips and locking hooks before doing so. We all have different ear shapes and it's interesting that I have a different combination of hook and tip in each ear. The braided flexible cable, the length of which you can adjust thanks to the tightening clamp, also contributes to the overall comfort. There is also a traditional multi-function controller on one of the ends for controlling volume, calls, music or activating Siri.

PureGear PureBoom can be connected to up to two devices at the same time, for example a phone and a laptop. In practice, it might look like you're watching a video on your laptop and your phone rings. At that moment, the PureBooms can pause the playback on the laptop and you can take the call comfortably with the headphones. Of course, communication takes place via Bluetooth with a range of up to 10 meters. During testing, the signal transmission worked without any problems.

Full charge in two hours

The headphones can play for up to 8 hours on a single charge, which is not bad at all. It is more than enough for one full working day. As soon as they run out of juice, all you have to do is connect them to your computer using a microUSB cable and you will have them fully charged again in less than two hours.

Looking closely at the headphones, you can notice that they are made of aluminum and boast an IPX4 rating, making them resistant to sweat or rain. The PureBoom headphones also boast a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a fairly decent musical performance. I used it to test the sound Hi-Fi test by Libor Kříž. He compiled a playlist on Apple Music and Spotify, which simply tests whether the headphones or the set are worth it. A total of 45 songs will check individual parameters such as bass, treble, dynamic range or complex delivery.

For example, I played a song in PureBoom Morning from Beck and I was surprised that the headphones have a decent amount of balanced bass. They also handled the Hans Zimmer soundtrack decently. On the other hand, however, it is noticeable that at higher volumes they don't catch up much anymore and the presentation is quite unnatural and in the end absolutely unlistenable. I recommend listening at fifty to sixty percent of the output. It could easily happen that you blow them up completely.

When I consider the purchase price of the headphones, i.e. two thousand crowns without the crown, I have no reason to complain at all. At this price point, you'd be hard-pressed to find similar wireless headphones with such features. The plastic case is also nice, in which you can place not only the headphones, but also the charging cable and take it with you anywhere.

In addition, PureGear tried to think of every detail, so there is a rubber band on the case that you can easily attach to the zipper so that it does not get in the way. When you turn on the headphones, they automatically let you know how much battery you have left, which you can also find in the status bar of the paired iPhone.

You can buy PureGear PureBoom wireless headphones for 1 crowns in the EasyStore.cz store. For the money invested, you will receive a great piece of equipment that will do its job. If you are not an ardent audiophile, you will be pleasantly surprised by the sound, and the headphones are more than sufficient for normal sports/home listening.
