We first heard about Missile Command: Recharged three weeks ago when Atari announced it. It is the spiritual successor of the legendary game Missile Command, which saw the light of day already in 1980. In addition to Atari, the developer studio Nickervision took care of the new version. The game is available now on iOS and Android for free.

Missile Command: Recharged is released to mark the 40th anniversary of the first release. Missile Command belongs to the so-called golden era of arcade games alongside legends such as Pac-Man, Asteroids, Space Invaders or even Donkey Kong. The Recharged version has an interesting neon aesthetic that surprisingly fits the game. In addition, the developers promise intuitive touch controls that should work great on phones.

The goal of the game is to defuse the bombs that fall on your city. And in such a way that you shoot them down before they hit the ground. There are various bonuses to help you survive longer. Similar to the original arcade game, there are leaderboards. After all, you are already comparing yourself to the whole world and not only to people from the gaming room. The developers have also prepared various improvements from the power of the weapons, through the speed of loading to the repair of the city. But the best thing is that anyone can try the game for free, it's already available available on the App Store, where it has a very good rating of 4,5/5 so far.
