At Computex, Asia's biggest tech show, Asus unveiled the new ZenBook 3 laptop, which boasts that it's thinner and lighter than Apple's XNUMX-inch MacBook, with more power to boot.

Asus calls its ZenBook 3 "the most prestigious laptop in the world" and compared it to MacBooks on stage. The ZenBook 3 is only 11,9 millimeters thick (the MacBook is 13,1 millimeters) and also offers an aluminum body.

At the same time, the ZenBook 3 is more powerful than the XNUMX-inch MacBook, and in this regard, Asus compares it to the MacBook Air, when its new product is supposed to offer "the best of both worlds."

Asus was able to fit the most powerful Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM into the small machine, while the MacBook only offers a weaker Core M. On the other hand, it does not need a fan, Asus had to install a three-millimeter "thinnest fan in the world".

The display of the third ZenBook is 12,5 inches and is covered by durable Gorilla Glass. The thin machine has the largest screen-to-body ratio of any Asus laptop, at a whopping 82 percent. Similar to the MacBook, the ZenBook 3 has a full-sized keyboard, a glass touchpad, and a fingerprint reader supporting Windows Hello, i.e. login without the need to enter a password.

Asus offers its thin laptop in three colors: royal blue, quartz gray and, following Apple's example, also in rose gold. A USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 port is available for charging. Asus ZenBook 3 should be available in the third quarter of this year for $999 (24 crowns) in the weakest version (Core i300, 5GB RAM, 4 GB SSD).
