Several iPhone racing games have been around for a long time, and it must be admitted - there are some very high-quality titles among them. Asphalt 5 may not be exactly super-new, but it's the latest big addition to the car simulator family, and it's really cool.

Super graphics, great music and sound effects, great gameplay, options and lively tasks - that's how Asphalt 5 could be described in a nutshell. But we will certainly not stop there and look at it a little closer.

Super graphics, great music and sound effects
As for the graphics, it is one of the most graphically successful games for the iPhone that I have had the honor of knowing. I'm sure it's also because I run the game on 3GS, where Asphalt 5 is smoother and there are a lot more effects than on 2G or 3G, but even on older devices the graphics are not bad at all. Great music accompanies the game both in the menu and during races (which you can replace with your own from your iPod) and the sound effects are also good.

Great gameplay, options and lively tasks
The career mode is probably the most important – for each map you have 4 tasks that you have to complete. So it's not just about racing, but for example you have to outrun the policemen, cover a route in a certain time or maybe crash all your opponents (this is actually a game in which you drive for a policeman). For each track, you can choose one of the cars that you have unlocked and, of course, bought with continuously earned dollars. Of course, each of them has different characteristics and specifics, so there is a possibility of a kind of tactical choice. There is also tuning, so as the game progresses, you adjust your karts both technically and design-wise.

There are also hidden shortcuts or the possibility of drifting in the tracks. During the ride you can have loaded even one of the girls that you gradually unlock and they bring you specific bonuses – 15% extra money and the like. You get all this before driving in the menu.

Definitely worth mentioning is the ability to drive fast (just for fun) and the multiplayer, which really got me. You can play locally with friends via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, or online via the Internet with people from anywhere. Driving can be controlled by tilting, touching the edges of the screen or the virtual steering wheel.

Bottom line, Asphalt 5 offers a graphic and sound experience + a long time of really high-quality entertainment. You won't finish this game in one day, as it sometimes happens (if you really try, you probably will, but that's more extreme). You can try before you buy free version.
