I like to play an iPhone game here and there, and I absolutely love when I discover a quality iPhone game for free. And today I found out that I have a lot to look forward to before Christmas. The Appvent Calendar website will reveal one game every day, which will be completely free for that day!

That wouldn't be a big deal in itself, there are thousands of free games on the Appstore, but Advent Calendar he started pretty badly. The first free iPhone game in this calendar is nothing less than a very high-quality title from Czech creators called 33rd Division (if you're a fan of 14205.w5.wedos.net at Facebook whether Twitter, so you learned about it already in the afternoon).

I definitely recommend visiting the site Advent Calendar every day and if the game interests you, don't forget to download it that day. Currently the pages are quite overloaded, so they take longer to load than they should. If you are interested in what the 33rd Division is about, read Tomáš Plíhal's "diary".

22-10-09 10:45:15 SELČ - I'm sitting at school, I'm bored. Another standard situation. So let's try not to look at the Top 25 in the App Store? Why not, I open and flip through. Hmm 33rd DIVISION for €0,79 slowly creeping up. The details tell us that we can play it for minutes or days. And that this is a Commandos type game. That caught my attention. But the size prevents me from trying to buy, the game is more than 20MB and 3G fails. I happily download at home, knowing that such a volume of data must mean quality. There's no time to turn it on in the evening, I save the entertainment for school.

23-10-09 9:30:00 SELČ - Boredom is coming again, so I start "Commandos" for iPhone. The game begins. Great speed and sounds right at the start. I choose Live mode. And I play, but hey it's not Commandos. Just the look and principle of the game, it seems similar to me. It doesn't matter, the game wins me over in a few seconds (as soon as I understood the principle). I'm playing. After a few successful overruns by the soldiers, a medic runs up to my screen, followed by a big, slow boss announcing his presence in a wild field of SS patrols.

The game takes place on one of four battlefields, to which you can sneak past German patrols. There are 3 types of soldiers in the game (pawn, medic and big boss), each of them rated with a different number of points. A number of power-ups are also displayed on the battlefield, giving soldiers everything from invisibility to super scores. You control the movement of the soldiers with your finger, drawing the trajectory of their movement on the display. After tapping a soldier, the soldier will go into hiding and become invisible to the field of ever-watching SS soldiers with binoculars. The game has the perfect background music that can be turned off if you prefer to listen to your iPod, the soldiers' peculiar chatter and great graphics. For the price, don't buy it, and knowing that I'll be supporting the local scene. I'm already looking forward to conquering Pilsen. The 33rd DIVISION wants you!
