It must have been really hot at Apple headquarters in the last week. Whatever reason the firmware for the as-yet-unreleased HomePod speaker got into the hands of the developers, it certainly should not have contained so much information about not only unreleased, but undisclosed products. Developers in the extensive code read about upcoming Apple news like in a book.

Although Apple will probably introduce new iPhones next month, for a long time nothing too concrete was known about them. There was the usual speculation, but there is always plenty of it. But then came the (quite possibly erroneous) release of the firmware for the HomePod, which revealed a lot of important things.

Moreover, by the new iPhone will have a virtually full-body display and unlock via a 3D facial scan, the discoveries are far from over. Inquisitive developers sifting through endless thousands of lines of code keep posting new information about upcoming Apple products.

Apple Watch with LTE and possibly a new design

Apple Watch Series 3, as the new generation of Apple watches will probably be called and could arrive during the fall, should come with a significant novelty - connection to the mobile network. Late last week with this news he rushed Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, so that its information is subsequently confirmed in the aforementioned HomePod firmware.

An LTE chip inside the watch would be a big deal. Until now, the Watch connects to the Internet via a paired iPhone. In the case of a custom SIM card, they would become a much more self-sufficient tool that could significantly change the way users use them.

According to Bloomberg has LTE modems for the Apple Watch supplied by Intel, and a new model should appear before the end of this year. If this happens, it will be very interesting to see how Apple manages to implement other components into the body of the watch. Some competing solutions have significantly increased in size thanks to wireless modems.

Interesting speculation in this regard threw in renowned blogger John Gruber, who allegedly heard from his sources that the new Watch Series 3 could come with a new design for the first time. Considering the arrival of LTE, this could make sense, but even Gruber himself does not consider it to be XNUMX% information yet.

Apple TV finally with 4K

Additional information discovered in the HomePod code will especially please Apple TV fans, because they have been complaining for a long time that the Apple set-top box, unlike most competing solutions, does not support high resolution 4K. At the same time, mentions were found of support for Dolby Vision and HDR10 color formats for HDR video.

The current Apple TV does not support video in 4K, however, some titles in 4K and HDR have already started to appear in iTunes as well. You can't download or run it yet, but it may mean that Apple is preparing to distribute better content for its new set-top box.

This would also be positive news for viewers of Netflix, which streams in 4K, for example. This high definition with HDR is also supported by Amazon and Google Play.
