After a long struggle, Apple managed to get a trademark on AirPower. The release, which should be behind the door, is probably no longer standing in the way, and Apple can rest assured that no other products named AirPower will appear around the world.

When Apple wanted to register the AirPower trademark last year, the company came up with a cross after a funus. Shortly before Apple's application, another American company reserved the trademark. This meant only one thing for Apple - if they wanted the mark, they had to fight for it in court.

That's what happened, and Apple initiated a lawsuit to block Advanced Access Technologies' request. One argument was that the AirPower name fits in with Apple's other trademarks, such as AirPods, AirPrint, Airdrop and others. Conversely, granting such a trademark to another company could be confusing for users.

Apple did not achieve the desired result in court, however, as it turned out, the company from Cupertino was able to settle with Advanced Access Technologies out of court. It was probably very expensive, but Apple wants to get everything right before officially introducing the AirPower charging pad to the world. One of the reasons is also that the market is not flooded by a wave of other "AirPower" products, especially from China. Which is exactly what has been happening in recent months. Now all that's left is to introduce the charging pad. Hopefully we'll see it next week, most indications point to it.
