According to reports this week, it is said that it is possible that Facebook will release a separate mobile application in the coming weeks, in which users will not have to use their full and real name when communicating. The report comes from an unnamed source and was published by the newspaper The New York Times. Facebook is said to have been working on such an application for less than a year, and the goal of the entire project is to enable users to anonymously discuss topics that they would be uncomfortable discussing under their real name.

Josh Miller, who joined the company at the beginning of 2014 thanks to the acquisition of the online communication company Branch, is said to be behind the project. Microsoft comes with a new application Xim for unusual image sharing, it will also arrive on iOS (October 9)

Microsoft has shown that it is not only focused on its own operating system, but also devotes efforts to developing applications for iOS and Android. The result of this endeavor is the new Xim application, the ability of which is to provide a specific circle of users with the opportunity to view images on their phone at the same moment. The user selects a group of photos that he wants to show off, and his friends and loved ones at that moment have the opportunity to view these images as a slideshow on their own devices. The presenter can move between the photos in different ways or, for example, zoom in on them, and other onlookers can see all this activity on their own display.

The advantage is that only the presenter needs to have the application installed. Others will receive a link to the website by email or message and can connect to the presentation via their internet browser. Photos can be imported into the Xim application from your own photo gallery, Instagram, Facebook or OneDrive. In addition, if any of the "viewers" also have the Xim application, they can expand the presentation with their own content. Through the application, you can also send messages or invite other spectators.

It is important to note that the application is not yet available for download. However, it is already advertised on Microsoft's website and should therefore appear in the App Store in the near future.

CyberLink has released PhotoDirector, an image and photo editing app, to the App Store. This new app, whose Mac and Windows counterpart was recently updated, offers features for quick and easy editing. These include, for example, adding special effects and filters or improving the image. But it is also possible to create collages. The editing results can then be easily shared on popular social networks such as Facebook or Flickr.

The application offers the function of removing objects that do not fit into your idea of ​​the resulting image. In the application menu, there is also the option of adjusting saturation, toning, various special effects or adding an HDR effect. In addition, the application offers editing options such as white balance, shadow adjustments, exposure or contrast, cropping, rotation, and the like. CyberLink is also known for its advanced portrait editing tools. However, this application only offers skin smoothing among the popular features.

PhotoDirector for iPhone is in the App Store Free Download and with an in-app purchase it can be upgraded to the premium version for €4,49. The advantage of this version is that you get unlimited object removal, the ability to work with a resolution of up to 2560 x 2560 pixels, and you get rid of ads.

Weebly

An interesting iPad app called Weebly has also made its way to the App Store. It is a touch control adapted version of the popular web tool for creating web pages using the drag&drop method. The application is really very good and for amateur web creators it can serve as a completely sufficient tool for creating, editing and managing websites. Weebly isn't really new to the App Store. But it is only with the arrival of version 3.0 that it becomes such a creative tool with which you can create and manage a website on the iPad. Weebly is a universal application for both iPhone and iPad, but the editing capabilities on the iPhone are not yet available on the iPad, and the company has not said whether they ever will. Finally, it is necessary to add the pleasant news that Weebly can synchronize your work between the web and iOS versions of the tool.

AutoDesk has released a new mobile application, SketchBook Mobile, for both iOS and Android. Aimed mainly at artists, this new product tries to offer space for your creativity, offering things like highly customizable brushes, but also preset pens, pencils and highlighters. SketchBook Mobile is a very powerful tool for drawing and painting, for example, thanks to the fact that it allows you to zoom in on your creation by up to 2500%.

Google has released a new app for iOS called Google News & Weather. As the name suggests, this is an informative application that brings aggregated news from various English-language servers and weather forecast. The news feed is highly customizable and the user can choose what topics they want to see on the app's main screen.

Free app Swarm from Foursquare, which is used to announce your location, has received a nice update. It brings a new widget, thanks to which iOS 8 users will be able to log in to individual places directly from the Notification Center of the iPhone. In addition to logging in, the widget can also display your nearby friends, which is also a useful feature. The update also fixes bugs and makes Swarm run faster and more stable.

Chrome

The Internet browser has also been optimized for iPhone 6 Chrome from Google. In addition, updating this browser also brings the ability to download and open files using Google Drive. In addition, Chrome got rid of minor bugs and its stability was improved.

Google has also updated the official client for its Gmail. 1Password for iPhone and iPad has reached version 5.1, which, among other things, brings optimization for the larger displays of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus. Touch ID integration and Dropbox synchronization have also been improved. The application also received other minor improvements. It is now possible to add labels to items or enable and disable the use of alternative keyboards in 1Password.

Microsoft has released updates for its OneDrive, and the official client of this cloud storage has thus received several novelties. The user interface of the application was slightly improved, which now fully uses the larger displays of the new iPhones. On the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, you will have more display space for files and folders, but also more space for efficient work with documents. The option to sort files and folders by name, creation date or size was also added.

In addition, Microsoft also focused on the security of the application, and it is now possible to lock the application to a pin code or fingerprint, which is made possible by the integration of Touch ID technology. You can now safely protect your files from any unwanted intervention.

Things

Also a pleasant surprise is the update of the popular GTD software for iPhone called Things. The new version of Things also brings optimization for larger iPhones, but it also offers more sharing options, a new label view, and background update improvements. On the plus side, Things doesn't just come with a resolution adjustment, but a completely new type of display is available for the iPhone 6 Plus that takes advantage of the potential of this large phone and, for example, fully displays task labels.

After the last update, Week Calendar is another application that offers Dropbox support and thus the possibility to attach a file to the event. To add a file, just open a new or existing event in the Week Calendar and select the "Add Attachment" option in the editing options. After that, all you have to do is select the desired file from your Dropbox library, and Week Calendar will insert a link to the file in the event note.

In addition to this integration, Week Calendar in version 8.0.1 also brings several bug fixes and improvements. The update is of course free. If you do not yet own the Week Calendar, you can buy it for a pleasant €1,79 in App Store.

Pocket

The popular Pocket application is also newly prepared for the new iPhones, which allows you to save and sort articles for later reading.
