James Thomson, the developer behind the iOS calculator called PCalc, was yesterday invited Apple to immediately remove the active widget from your app. He allegedly violated Apple's rules about widgets placed in the Notification Center. The whole situation had a kind of paradoxical tone, because Apple itself promoted this application in the App Store in a special category called Best Apps for iOS 8 – Notification Center Widgets.

In Cupertino, they realized the bizarre duplicity of their actions, apparently as a result of media pressure, and backed away from their decision. An Apple spokesperson told the server TechCrunch, that the PCalc application may eventually remain in the App Store even with its widget. In addition, Apple has decided that the widget in the form of a calculator is legitimate and will not prevent applications that want to use it in any way.

The developer James Thomson himself, according to his statement on Twitter, received a phone call from Apple, during which he was told that his app had been thoroughly examined once again and could remain in the App Store in its current form. Author of PCalc v tweet also thanked users for their support. It was precisely the voice of disgruntled users and the media storm that probably overturned Apple's decision.
