Although Apple does not traditionally participate in the CES trade fair, it still earned considerable attention at this year's event, mainly thanks to partnerships with several major smart TV manufacturers. Already at the beginning of the week, Samsung he announced, that he developed for his in collaboration with Apple Smart TV iTunes store and will offer AirPlay 2. Thanks to AirPlay 2, it will be possible to easily mirror images from iPhone, iPad and Mac to supported televisions. In this way, the user will be able to stream video, audio and photos to the big screen without having to own an Apple TV. A number of the above-mentioned models will also offer HomeKit support and with it also basic control (volume, playback) of the TV directly from an iOS device or voice control via Siri, albeit to a limited extent.

AirPlay 2 support on competing manufacturers' TVs is very likely one of the next steps in Apple's preparations for its own Netflix-like streaming service. With the help of the function, it will be much easier for users to get movies and series on the big screen without having to own another device from Apple - especially Apple TV. According to speculation so far, the service should arrive in the middle of this year, probably at WWDC, where Apple Music also made its debut.
