Apple has made the 2nd and 3rd generation AirPods more expensive

On the occasion of the traditional September keynote, we saw the presentation of the expected AirPods Pro 2nd generation, which brings with it a number of interesting changes. Their dominance stems from the brand new H2 chip. It should provide even better sound, better connectivity, surround sound and a number of other advantages that place the new generation in a dominant role. Thanks to this, we will even see an even more effective active noise suppression mode, as well as a more effective transmission mode. The new AirPods Pro 2 will be available for 7290 CZK.

What is a little more interesting, however, is that immediately after the introduction of the new generation of AirPods Pro headphones, the prices of the basic models also increased. While in the summer of 2022 you could still buy 2nd generation AirPods for just 3 CZK, they are now available at the official Apple Store Online for 790 CZK. The 3990rd generation AirPods are in a very similar situation. Their price today reaches 3 CZK for the version with a Lightning case and 5490 CZK for the version with a MagSafe case, while still in August you could get AirPods 5790 with a Lightning case for only 3 CZK.

It is a question why Apple actually decided on the given price increase. There have already been a number of opinions among Apple users, according to which Apple is directly concerned that older models do not "exploit" the new AirPods Pro 2nd generation, similar to what happened after the introduction of the 3rd generation AirPods. At that time, apple growers preferred the second generation, which was significantly cheaper and, given the differences, simply paid off more.
