Apple is completely wasting an opportunity. Partially resigned to its own MagSafe accessories

With the arrival of the iPhone 12 (Pro) series, Apple boasted a rather interesting novelty. For the very first time, he introduced the MagSafe solution, in a slightly modified form, also on his phones. Until then, we could only know MagSafe from Apple laptops, where it was specifically a magnetically attachable power connector that ensured safe power supply to the device. For example, if you tripped over a cable, you didn't have to worry about taking the entire laptop with you. Only the magnetically "snapped" connector itself clicked out.

Similarly, in the case of iPhones, MagSafe technology is based on a system of magnets and a possible "wireless" power supply. Simply clip the MagSafe chargers to the back of the phone and the phone will start charging automatically. It should also be mentioned that in this case the device is powered by 15 W, which is not the worst. Especially when we take into account that normal wireless charging (using the Qi standard) charges at a maximum of 7,5 W. The magnets from MagSafe will also serve for easier connection of covers or wallets, which generally simplifies their use. But the whole thing can be moved a few levels higher. Unfortunately, Apple doesn't (yet) do that.

MagSafe accessories have their own category in Apple's offer, namely directly in the Apple Store Online e-shop, where we can find several interesting pieces. In the first place, however, these are primarily the mentioned covers, which are also supplemented by chargers, holders or various stands. Undoubtedly, the most interesting product from this category is the MagSafe battery, or MagSafe Battery Packs. Specifically, it is an additional battery for the iPhone, which is used to extend the life of the phone. Simply clip it onto the back of the phone and the rest will be taken care of automatically. In practice, it works more or less like a power bank - it recharges the device, which results in the aforementioned increase in endurance.

But that's actually where it ends. Apart from the covers, the MagSafe Battery Pack and a couple of chargers, we won't find anything else from Apple. Although the offer is more diverse, other products come from other accessory manufacturers such as Belkin. In this respect, therefore, an interesting discussion opens, whether Apple is not letting the bandwagon pass by. MagSafe is becoming an integral part of modern Apple phones, and the truth is that it is a relatively popular accessory. In fact, in addition, only minimal effort would be sufficient. As we have already mentioned a few times, the MagSafe Battery is a relatively interesting and extremely practical companion that will come in handy for battery-hungry Apple users.

A wasted opportunity

Apple could focus on this product and give it a little more glory. At the same time, not enough would be enough in the final. The Cupertino giant is literally wasting an opportunity in this regard. The MagSafe Battery Pack as such is only available in a standard white design, which would definitely be worth changing. Apple could not only bring it in more variants, but at the same time, for example, every year introduce a new model matched to one of the colors of the current flagship, which would both harmonize the design and at the same time attract apple lovers to buy. If they were already paying tens of thousands for a new phone, why didn't they just invest a relatively "small amount" in an additional battery to extend the battery? Some apple fans would also like to see different editions. They could differ both in terms of design and battery capacity, depending on the purpose.
