In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Microsoft has optimized Edge for Macs with the M1

In June, Apple presented itself to us with a highly anticipated new product called Apple Silicon. Specifically, this is a transition related to Apple computers, for which the Cupertino company wants to switch from processors from Intel to its own solution. Last month we saw the first Macs with the M1 chip. Specifically, these are the 13″ MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and Mac mini. Although many critics feared a situation where no applications would be available on this new platform, the opposite seems to be true. A number of developers are taking this transition seriously, which is why we can see new optimized apps all the time. The latest addition is Microsoft's Edge browser.

The official Twitter account of Microsoft Edge Dev informed about this news, which also invited users to download the optimized version. Unfortunately, Microsoft did not specify the benefits that users of the Edge browser on a Mac with an M1 chip may notice. But it can be expected that everything will run much better and without any hiccups like with Firefox.

iOS 14 is installed on 81% of iPhones

After a long time, Apple has updated the tables with numbers that discuss the percentage representation of the iOS and iPadOS operating systems on the respective devices. According to this data, the latest versions with the designation 14 are doing quite well, as the mentioned iOS 14, for example, is installed on 81% of iPhones that were introduced during the last four years. For iPadOS 14, this is 75%. You can still see the general representation of all currently active products on the attached image below. In this case, iOS got 72% and iPadOS got 61%.

Apple responded to criticism from Facebook

In yesterday's summary, we informed you about very interesting news. Facebook constantly complains that Apple protects the privacy of its users. Everything started with the introduction of the iOS 14 operating system in June, when the Cupertino company boasted a great feature at first glance. The applications will have to notify you and ask for your confirmation whether you agree to track your activity across different websites and applications. Thanks to this, personalized advertisements are created directly for you.

However, huge advertising companies and Facebook do not agree with this. According to them, with this step, Apple is literally crushing small businessmen, for whom advertising is extremely important. In addition, personalized advertising should generate 60% more sales, which was mentioned by Facebook. Apple has now responded to the whole situation in its statement to MacRumors magazine. At Apple, they support the idea that every user has the right to know when data is being collected about their activities across the Internet and applications, and it is up to them alone to enable or disable this activity. In this way, the apple user gets much better control over what the applications actually allow.

Apple continued to add that each developer can insert their own text into their application, in which they can describe to the user the importance of personalized ads, which the Californian giant does not, of course, prohibit. Everything revolves only around the fact that everyone has the opportunity to decide about this and to know directly about these activities. How do you view this whole situation? Do you think Apple's actions are bad and will really hurt smaller entrepreneurs and companies so much, or is this a wonderful innovation? Apple delayed the feature itself until early next year, giving developers time to implement it.
