Apple offers customers a new LG UltraFine display with 4K resolution in its brick-and-mortar stores. This is the successor to the 21,5-inch monitor that the company started offering together with the new generation of MacBook Pro in 2016. The new version of the display differs in the range of ports and the diagonal of the display, which has grown to 23,5 inches. The price, on the other hand, remained the same.

It's only been less than two weeks since Apple from its site downloaded the original LG UltraFine 4K with a diagonal of 21,5″. Along with this, the stock of the larger UltraFine 5K display also started to disappear. There were many indications that the company would soon introduce its own external monitor, the arrival of which has been speculated for many months. Although a new Apple Display may still be on the cards, for now the company has started offering only the newer UltraFine 4K version with a diagonal of 23,5 inches.

The novelty has also improved in terms of connector equipment. While the original version offered four USB-C ports, the new model has a pair of Thunderbolt 3 ports and three USB-C ports. Both types of cables are included with the monitor, so the user can choose which technology to connect the display to, depending on the model of their device. The remaining ports can then be used to connect other peripherals.

Due to the different diagonal, the resolution also changed to 3840×2160 pixels, while the original model offered 4096×2304 pixels. Hand in hand with this, however, the subtleties of the display have also decreased to 186 pixels per inch (originally 218 PPI). The refresh rate remained at 60 Hz.

Currently, the new monitor is only available in Apple Stores – it's not available on Apple's website, LG's website, or even any other retailer. Therefore, if you are interested in the new product, you need to visit one of the company's foreign brick-and-mortar stores and ask about the availability of the staff there. The price is $699, the same as the older 21,5″ variant.
