Dan Pražák Almost five months have passed since Apple officially announced the end of AirPower development. The wireless charger from Apple's workshops was supposed to be unique mainly in the ability to charge three devices at the same time, regardless of where they will be placed on the pad. However, technical problems related to overheating in particular forced the engineers to cut development and it is only a question of whether Apple will ever try to design similar accessories. In the meantime, he has now decided to include AirPower alternatives from another brand in his e-shop, which, although not as sophisticated, still look interesting.

In particular, Apple started selling a pair of pads from the manufacturer mophie, which is known for its quality accessories for iPhones, iPads and Apple Watch. The chargers differ from AirPower in terms of construction, where they are a bit more voluminous, color design in the form of glossy black, charging characteristics and, above all, the price, which is slightly lower. However, even in the case of mophie, these are quite minimalist pads that do not offend with their design.
The first charger is labeled mophie 3 in 1 wireless charging pad and as the name suggests, it is able to charge three devices at the same time, namely iPhone, AirPods with wireless charging case and Apple Watch. For charging the watch, the charger has a stand that keeps it at the ideal angle for Nightstand Mode. Below it is a special charging area for AirPods. The advantage lies mainly in the ability to charge three devices at the same time by connecting only one cable, which is included in the package together with the adapter. The mat costs CZK 3.

The second charger is referred to by Apple as mophie dual wireless charging pad and set its price at a more pleasant 2 CZK. However, the pad is only able to wirelessly charge two devices at the same time (for example, an iPhone and AirPods, or two iPhones), with a power of up to 209 W. It also has a USB-A connector for connecting an Apple Watch or any other accessory. As a result, the pad can charge three devices at the same time, but only two wirelessly. It is worth noting that a cable is included in the package, but probably without an adapter.

Both chargers are available exclusively from Apple, both on the e-shop and in the company's brick-and-mortar stores. They can also be ordered from the Czech version of the Apple Online Store, while delivery is completely free. You will receive the cheaper charger on the next working day, but you will have to wait until September for the more expensive 3-in-1 variant.
I don't understand how anyone can talk about differences in price and construction from AirPower when AirPower never existed as a final product - no one ever made it, priced it, and put it on sale. The exclusive sale of wireless chargers by Apple is the same nonsense. They can be bought elsewhere, and some time ago the price differences between Apple and elsewhere were resolved in the US.
