Jony Ive, the chief and universally recognized designer of Apple, apparently thought that he deserved a new home for his achievements, so he bought a house in San Francisco for 17 million dollars (roughly 320 million crowns), which is located in a luxurious part of the Gold Coast . Ivo's new house towers over the sea bay, has a garden in the middle and "cathedral" ceilings. The house from 1927, which was designed by the architectural company Willis Polk & Co, has, among other things, six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

Apple reportedly wants to sue the Polish supermarket A.pl (September 10)

Apple reportedly intends to take legal action against the Polish brand A.pl. It created its name thanks to the Polish web ending .pl, but Apple doesn't like it and allegedly already asked the Polish Patent Office to investigate the whole situation and deprive A.pl of the right to use this name. Apple claims that the A.pl brand can confuse the customer and, on the contrary, the company in question can parasitize on the successes of the Californian company. However, A.pl is of course going to defend itself, it does not want to abandon its brand, especially when it is an online deli store, so it has nothing to do with Apple's business.

However, Apple may not like the logo fresh24.pl, which has an apple in its logo, and the company is actually A.pl. The dispute is not public, so we do not yet know how the whole situation is developing.

Apple has published the availability of iOS 6 features in individual countries (September 12)

Not all iOS 6 features will be available in all countries where iPhone is sold. Apple posted page, on which you can find the availability of specific functions in individual countries. It's no surprise for certain things, all Siri-related features will only be available in supported countries, as well as dictation, which uses the same speech recognition technology. However, it is interesting in the Maps application. While navigation, normal and satellite maps will be available both here and in Slovakia, in terms of searching for POIs and reporting the traffic situation, unlike the Czechs, Slovak users will not receive these. In contrast, 3D views will only be available in the US.

How an architectural magazine got the iPhone 5 promo video (September 13)

If you take a closer look at promo video, created by Apple for the iPhone 5, you'll find that in one scene (showing off LTE) the website of a construction and design magazine is displayed on the new iPhone dezeen. After the keynote, its creators revealed how they came up with such an opportunity.

“Apple contacted Dezeen earlier this year saying they would like to commission a special version of our homepage and some articles for possible future marketing use. In terms of Apple, he said that both must not contain any external ads and social network buttons, but he did not provide details about where these sites could be used.

We had our website created by our longtime collaborator Zerofeem. In addition to the iPhone version of Dezeen, we have also created billboard-sized pages that can appear in Apple Stores, for example.

iPhone 5 pre-orders sold out in one hour (September 14)

There is huge interest in the iPhone 5 despite the alleged disappointment of a lack of innovation. Pre-orders began on September 14th in the US, Canada, Germany and Australia, and the first batch sold out in an incredible hour. In comparison, last year's iPhone 4S sold out in 22 hours after pre-orders went live. Other interested parties will have to wait another two weeks, which is the deadline given by Apple's website, or wait in the classic line in front of the Apple Store. Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris had this to say:

“The iPhone 5 pre-orders have been incredible. We are completely out of the customer's interest"

Apple published detailed drawings of iPhone 5 for packaging manufacturers (September 15)

Apple has published very detailed drawings of the iPhone 5 on its developer page. The aforementioned document contains not only a very detailed description and dimensions of the new phone's exterior, but also notes for packaging manufacturers on how to manufacture their products. Access to PDF documents is public, it can be accessed from main page for developers or through direct link. Manufacturers have to change the shapes of their packaging again after two years due to a change in design, on the other hand, they can almost be sure that the design will last another two years, at least according to the pattern of how Apple changes the appearance of the iPhone in recent years, i.e. every other generation.
