Apple introduced the first generation of durable and professional Apple Watch only last year. So now comes their second generation, which logically cannot bring too many changes. Apple Watch Ultra 2 mainly has the new S9 chip, which, by the way, also includes Series 9. There is also an even greater brightness of the display.

The S9 chip is based on the A15 Bionic chip that Apple introduced with the iPhone 13 and 13 Pro series, the iPhone SE 3rd generation or the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus also have it, as well as the iPad mini 6th generation (which therefore has a reduced chipset frequency from 3,24 GHz to 2,93 GHz). The chip is made with TSMC's 5nm technology according to Apple's design, when it contains 15 billion transistors. It was even used as the basis for the M2 chipsets that Apple uses in iPads and Macs.

The brightness of the display is an incredible 3000 nits, which is the most that Apple has ever created. There is a new modular display that also uses its edges. Cyclic updates allow you to connect Bluetooth accessories to measure cadence, speed and power. Night mode now turns on automatically in the dark thanks to the ambient light sensor. Duration is 36 hours, 72 hours in power saving mode. There is an increased content of recycled material in the case, from original titanium to 95% recycled.

The US price of the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra is $799. They go on sale Friday, September 22, pre-orders start today.
