Yesterday evening, we saw the presentation of new apple products together as part of the September conference. In addition to the new iPad Air 4th generation and iPad 8th generation, we also saw the introduction of the cheaper Apple Watch SE and the high-end Apple Watch Series 6, which took all the limelight, and quite rightly so. The main new feature of the Series 6 is the ability for users to measure their blood oxygen saturation value within 15 seconds. This is possible thanks to a brand new sensor for monitoring heart activity.

However, Apple did not stop at the possibility of monitoring blood oxygen saturation. In addition, there have also been hardware improvements - specifically, the Series 6 offers a brand new S6 processor, which is based on the A13 Bionic process that currently powers the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro (Max). Specifically, the S6 processor has two cores and is much more powerful than its predecessor. The Always-On display was then also improved, which is now up to 2,5 times brighter in the "rest" state, i.e. when the hand is hanging down. We also got two new colors, namely PRODUCT(RED) red and blue, along with two new types of straps. However, during the presentation, Apple did not mention that the Series 6 also has an ultra-wideband chip with the designation U1, which is certainly essential information for some users.

Apple first introduced the U1 chip last year with the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro (Max). Simply put, this chip can convey exactly where and in what position the device is located. In addition, it is possible to simply measure the distance between two devices that have the mentioned chip using the U1 chip. In practice, the U1 chip can be used to transfer files using AirDrop when there are several Apple devices in the room. If you point your iPhone with a U1 chip at another Apple device with a U1 chip, that device will be automatically prioritized, which is definitely cool. In the future, the U1 chip should work with AirTags location tags, in addition, it should also play a role in the case of Car Key, a virtual vehicle key. Finally, we would like to point out that the cheaper Apple Watch SE does not have the U1 chip.
