Amaya Toman Apple Watch Series 4 was awarded the title Display of the Year. The said award is given to products that have seen significant technological progress and are equipped with great features. This year, the Society for Information Display awarded these awards for the twenty-fifth time, the winners were announced as part of Display Week in San Jose, California.
According to Display Industry Awards Jury Chairman Dr. Wei Chan, the annual awards serve as an opportunity to showcase the innovative progress made in display manufacturing, and this year's selection of winners reflects the breadth and depth of technological innovation. This year's winner was the OLED display of the new Apple Watch Series 4. It is not only 30% larger than previous generations, but also uses the new LTPO technology to improve consumption. The association with the Apple Watch Series 4 also appreciates that Apple has managed to preserve the original design and combine it with new hardware and software improvements. Enlarging the display without significantly increasing the body of the watch or affecting battery life was a challenge that the design team tackled really well.
