One of the biggest innovations in Apple Watch Series 2 is water resistance, thanks to which even swimmers can fully use the second generation of Apple watches. For maximum water resistance, the engineers even had to implement a water jet into the Watch.

This is not unexpected, Apple has already described this technology during Introducing Watch Series 2, however, only now that the watch has reached the first customers, we can see the "water jet" in action.

In order to make its new watch waterproof up to a depth of 50 meters (and therefore suitable for swimming), Apple developed new seals and stronger adhesives, thanks to which no water gets inside the device, but two ports still had to remain open.

In order for the speaker to work, of course, it needs air to produce sound. That's why Apple developers came up with a new technology where the water that gets into the speaker while swimming is then forced out by the speaker itself by vibration.

Apple has followed this technology with two swimming modes in the Watch Series 2, where the user can choose between swimming in a pool or in an open area. If the mode is active, the screen will turn off and lock. As soon as the swimmer gets out of the water and turns the crown for the first time, the speaker automatically pushes the water out.

Apple showed the method of squeezing water out of the speaker at the keynote only in a drawing. However, a video (attached above) has now surfaced on YouTube where we can see the fountain watch in close-up in real life.
