The Apple Watch doesn't really stand out in terms of battery life. It's even worse when they don't charge or won't turn on. That's also why we bring you 5 tips on what to do when your Apple Watch won't charge. The green lightning icon is the one that indicates that the Apple Watch is charging. If you have your watch connected to power, but you do not see this symbol, there is probably an error somewhere. The watch notifies you of the need to charge with a red flash, but it changes to green when connected to the power supply, so that the watch makes it clear to you that charging is already in progress.

Wait 30 minutes

If you haven't used your watch for a long time and it's completely discharged, the display may show you a magnetic charging cable symbol with a red lightning icon. In this case, it may take up to 30 minutes for the flash to turn green. So try to wait.

Restart

When you place the Apple Watch with its back on the charger, the magnets inside it align exactly with the watch. A bad setting is thus not likely. But if the watch still won't charge but is active, force restart it. You do this by holding their side button together with the crown pressed for at least 10 seconds. The correctness of the procedure will be confirmed by the displayed Apple logo.

Use other accessories

It could be that there is a problem with your third-party accessory. But since you received an original magnetic charging cable from Apple in the Apple Watch package, use it. Check that the adapter is well inserted into the socket, that the cable is well inserted into the adapter and that you have removed the protective films from the magnetic connector. If you have more accessories, then if the problem persists, try that one as well.

Clean the watch

It is possible that the watch will get dirty during your sports activities. Therefore, try to clean them properly, including the magnetic cable. Apple recommends that you turn off your watch before cleaning. Then remove the strap. Wipe the watch with a lint-free cloth, if the watch is heavily soiled, moisten the cloth, but only with water. Never clean your Apple Watch while it's charging, and never dry it with an external heat source (hair dryer, etc.). Do not use ultrasound or compressed air either.

Power reserve error

Apple Watch Series 5 or Apple Watch SE have a problem with watchOS 7.2 and 7.3 that they may not charge after going into power reserve. At least that was reported by watch users, at whose instigation Apple released watchOS 7.3.1, which solved this problem. So update to the latest software available. If problems persist, all you have to do is contact service support. However, if he determines that your watch suffers from this fault, the repair will be free of charge.
