Apple Wallet has been with us in Apple systems for quite a few years and many people actively use it. However, the eDoklady application is a hot new product and its use is somewhat more modest, although it is also very important.

V Apple Wallet you can safely store your credit and debit cards, ticket cards, boarding and other passes, car keys and other items. The application works not only on iPhones but also on the Apple Watch. It also works with Apple Pay, i.e. a universal payment method without the need to carry cash or physical cards. It works not only at terminals and in stores, but also online. In supported US states, of which there are only a handful so far, you can also upload your driver's license to the application.

Of course, it would be very nice if this platform worked as a universal for everything - including personal documents. Unfortunately, due to different legislation in different states, this is not the case. With us, you will not upload any of your personal documents to it, if we are talking about a citizen's or driver's license or passport. But we have a new and special eDoklady application for that.

eDocuments and ID on mobile

The eDoklady application now serves as a digital wallet for your documents. At first, it will store only the ID card, but later there are plans to add other IDs, such as a driver's license. In his case, thanks to the new legislation, we will be able to use the ID card in eDocuments for road checks as well. However, if we talk about what the application can do now and what it is actually good for, it is that with it you will always have the data from the ID card at hand, that it will offer you easy proof of identity and that it will end the transfer of the entire ID card. Then you won't have to carry the physical one with you anymore.

So if Apple Wallet refers to payment and debit cards as well as other customer cards as well as student cards, tickets and keys, eDocuments are only about citizenship (for now). With the application, you can also easily copy its data into various forms on e-shops, websites of authorities and companies. Use is therefore limited for now. During the year, it will also expand from when and which offices will work with the application. 100% operation should occur in early 2025.
