If you - like most people - carry your iPhone in a case, you've probably noticed that pressing the volume or power buttons doesn't have the same "clicking" effect as without the case. If this bothers you, know that a solution from Apple is most likely on the way. Patently Apple has pointed to a new Apple patent describing a completely new type of cover for the iPhone.

Covers perform not only aesthetic, but also a very important protective function for smartphones. However, their use also entails certain minor restrictions, including the side buttons of the phone. These are a bit more difficult to use when using the cover, and you can't hear their characteristic sound.

A newly revealed patent describes methods with which it will be possible to return the iPhone's side buttons to their full functionality and normal sound even when using the cover. The description of the patent is quite extensive and quite complex, but in short it could be said that part of the proposed device should be a magnet which, when pressed, exerts sufficient pressure on the button, resulting in a characteristic click - you can view the relevant drawing in our gallery.

As with a number of other patents filed by Apple, it is not certain whether it will be implemented. If we really get such a cover, another question is its price - even the basic covers from Apple are significantly more expensive than most others. It is therefore a question of how high the price of a "value-added" cover could climb.
