A few days ago, Apple launched a new web portal to give podcast creators a better experience managing and organizing their podcasts.

Until now, adding new podcasts was done directly in iTunes by clicking the "Submit Podcast" option. Now there is another option through a dedicated website Podcast Connect, which will either display all podcasts associated with a given Apple ID, or allow you to add a new one by entering an RSS feed address. For individual podcasts, all the information that their administrator has attached to them and any errors during verification, etc., will be displayed.

In addition to a better overview of managed podcasts, Podcast Connect will also enable faster changes. Restoring information about the podcast or individual episodes in iTunes is done simply by re-validating the RSS feed. Its address can now be changed just as easily, Libsyn Blog but here warns, that you need to pay attention to the correct 301 redirects and URL tags for the new RSS channel address, otherwise you risk losing all podcast subscribers.

In conjunction with the new portal, Apple has provided a new help to work with it and podcasts more generally and informed that changes made by restoring or changing the address of the RSS channel will be reflected in their system in 24 hours at the most. Apple is also sending out emails to users managing podcasts informing them of the new portal and HTTPS support for podcasts.
